Started getting check engine light for intake grid heater on 2006 Ram w/5.9 Cummins.After doing some research, I decided to replace the easy to access heater relay and now cold weather starts are much easier and no more check engine light.

Went in easy and after replacing this part it stopped my electrical system (like dash lights) from pulsing. Part didn't match the number that was on the old one but was recommended by rockauto. Also doesn't come with any mounting hardware.

Great replacement for my 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 and the best price too.Mine had a corroded terminal and it snapped off when I was trying to remove the relay to gain access to replace the alternator wire.Easy fix and great price!

Amazon says it doesn't work for my 2007.5 3500 but it fixed my issue. New to me truck. It threw P2609 when the weather got cold. Since the truck is new to me, I had to unbolt the intake horn and check to see if the heater grids had been deleted. They were still there. Checked the heater grid relay and it was in bad shape. Ordered this and a new fusible link (BAT-891 from Genos Garage) since the old one was cut in half. Knock on wood this fixed my issue. Heater grids are working as intended and no more code.

Product failed almost immediately. There is a spring return cup that, when the solenoid engages, goes into a hole on the case. When I opened the solenoid to determine the problem, I found that it had stuck in there and could not return, which maintained continuity between the battery and the load post. It overloaded the solenoid and burnt everything inside. I would say this is due to poor manufacturing quality. I would avoid this particular solenoid, and choose OEM or some other reputable manufacturer. It's a gamble. Hopefully It did not damage the heater that it was supposed to control.

Hooked up the power wire, then connected the work side and it sparked. Tested with my multimeter and there is battery power being supplied through to the out terminal to the grid heater with only the supply wire hooked up. Hooked up ground switching terminal, and manually activated the solenoid on signal power side, solenoid activates but doesn't shutoff. If I quickly tap the power signal on/off it will sometimes shutoff,.. other than that, it fits,.. but is a dud.*Update- Was sent a replacement and checked the new one before installing, no continuity between the work terminals. Installed and verified function worked good. This was installed on my 2006 Dodge Ram Cummins. Only giving 4 stars because quality control/assembly issue.
