I installed this in a 2008 Silverado 5.3L 1500 LT.This was a really easy install. Although the hose from solenoid to canister was longer and molded different than the factory one, I was able to loop it over and back down to the canister coupler connection, and the coupler fit the canister perfect.Even better, I was able to relocate the filter (hose) from the top of the transmission to the top of the fuel filler neck using the factory filter hose. Heat up the hose with heat gun to get the old filter hose off, and blow air thru it before re-using. My hose had a fair amount of dirt in it.Mounting to the top of the gas tank neck seems like a much cleaner location to mount the filter.

Not a good fit. Maybe for a different truck. Made it fit we'll see if it works out.

Tools needed were a flat head screwdriver to unclip canister, adjustable pliers for one hose clamp, extra zip ties and clippers for zip ties and a little imagination. Hope this helps. Comes with new wire harness. Clip one end to old clip and other end to new canister. Then zip tie wires to whatever. Remove old canister and filter hose. Place new flexible hose over fuel tank, this will then line up hose to clip in. On the new canister there are two places to reclip on the old bracket, use the first hook up closest on the new canister. The new filter hose is different(and shorter), no problem. Just use ziplocks on frame around hose and filter to approximately where the old filter sat. See photos in review. Entire replacement was less than a half hour on the ground with no lift.

Seems like Dorman is trying to cut corners by saying this kit will fit ALL of the trucks, it does not, not direct fit anyway. The kit should work okay for 99-03 standard cabs with the charcoal canister located in front of the gas tank. There was a break in between the 03 and 04 years I think, the charcoal canister moved to the right side of the gas tank. If you have a crew cab or extended cab, you should be fine regardless of year.Overall, Dorman needs to pull all stock on this and redo it's information for the NBS / GMT800 crowd. If your reading this, please stand up for your fellow automotive enthusiasts and post your vehicle information in your review so we can combat these companies poor practices and get the right parts.

It was a confirmed fit for my 2010 Silverado, however, the only thing that actually fit was the solenoid itself and the electrical commecor. Fixed my issue, turned off my engine light, but I had no use for the rest of the kit which is why I rate it 3 stars.

This Evap Vent Control kit replaces the stock, prone to failure solenoid and filter on the 1999 and other Silverados with the redesigned setup. The Dorman kit includes the complete valve, breather and hose as well as the adapter electrical plug. Watch a couple videos on line on how to do it - it is easier than I anticipated. I was recommended Dorman products at a car show years ago and since then have bought them ahead of other brands whenever possible. Always well manufactured and often re-engineered to remedy OE engineering errors, they've never let me down. Check out their website.

Believe they sent me one for the previous body style? Had to extend one of the hoses and the bracket was wrong however it cleared the CEL and was MUCH cheaper then oem or part source
