This coolant/oil temperature sensor was better than what was installed in my Jeep. The old sensor was malfunctioning. I had a cooling system code and lost my temperature gauge reading intermittently. I also noticed my Jeep was having trouble starting cold. This simple part fixed all of those issues. Nice brass fitting instead of the cheap plastic one that was installed. I would strongly recommend this product and advise not to "cheap out" for the few dollars more on this one.

Used this sensor when I replaced the engine oil filter housing on a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee (3.6L V6). It has a about 6,000 miles on it so far and is working without issue.

Didn’t fit exactly but it did with a little modification. Great quality.

Doing the oil cooler and all sensors is a very tedious process that requires pulling off the air filter, both manifolds and all that. Because of that process I'm not going to rate the "Easy to install aspect" because that's not a fault of Dorman, that's a Jeep engineering issue. The part in question however, is a perfect fit and works just fine. I do recommend you have some mechanical ability to tackle this process as this is a huge undertaking. I would highly recommend while it's all broken down to also do your spark plugs since everything is open.

You'll want to replace this when you replace your leaking oil filter housing / engine oil cooler assembly on your 3.6 Jeep/Chrysler/Dodge.
