I was worried because I wasn't sure if these things come in standard sizes or how to measure, but these indeed worked. I needed an extension because I'm using oversized Hue bulbs, so the glass plate doesn't fit otherwise. The shorter pieces mean you can chain these together to make an even longer extension, or they can be used as a cap to hold the glass plate on. Versatility is a plus. Visually unobtrusive, and I like the color.

These are cheaply machined and the threads are very loose when fit together. They do tighten down but if you put much umph behind them you’ll strip the threads as they aren’t set deep within themselves so just the edges of the threads catch. They did what I needed them to do, but the quality isn’t great.

My ceiling fixture came with a hollow rod that was 6†long and made it hang a little too low. This would have been the perfect solution if manufactured correctly.It is supposed to be M10 threads on both ends. One end was M10, the other end was a bit smaller. It would seemingly thread in, but would never tighten- and you could pull it right back out without unscrewing it.I flipped it over and tried the other end to make sure it was the tube and not the fixture. One end of the tube worked in either part of the fixture, the other end was loose in either part of the fixture. Definitely a problem with the product.I actually bought 2 different length tubes- both from the same manufacturer. Same problem with the other ones. Couldn’t use those either.I then bought a third set by a different manufacturer (that have the steel threaded inserts) and those worked fine.DONT buy these.
