Last year the main line backed up and I paid over $700 + the mess of cleaning up the inside overflow …YUCK! This time I had a better idea of the issues that happen before the full back up happens. Flushing the toilet and then bubbling in the toilet and slow drainage in the tub. Then waste coming up in the shower/tub when flushing the toilet is the last line of defense before it’s all over your floors! So this time I watched some videos and stumbled across this item. Seemed reasonable enough if you kinda understand what’s happening. Something clogs the mainline (toilet paper, toys, or even roots) and all you need is an enough pressure to push it out of the way. Now it could be a major issue like a collapsed pipe, but if you just need to push the junk down the pipe, THIS WILL DO THE TRICK!(The first thing I did try was some chemicals that should have eroded the junk, but that didn’t work for me. That was about $100)After some research, I went with this brand. A lot of people advised not to go with other brands. I hooked it up to the hose line and you have to push it down just enough to seal off where water doesn’t overflow on the ground, but also so that it doesn’t blow back into the house. It’s not far, but look at some videos on this (if you don’t push it far enough it will either not work or make a larger mess). The first time I tried it (I was a little scared), I turned the water on for 5 mins but it wasn’t sealed so it didn’t work. It wasn’t far enough in the pipe or maybe was in an area where it didn’t fill the pipe all the way. The second time I did it, I pushed it a little further, this time I knew it wouldn’t blow back into the house so I was less scared. It made a seal so that the water didn’t come out the top of the pipe onto the ground. I ran the water for 10 mins. When I turned the water off, I heard a big suction sound and that’s what you are waiting for. The blockage was pushed out and you are back to normal. They say that you should run the hose a little longer just to make sure the junk is pushed all the way down the line. Some lines of 100ft or more.Anyway, this was a $21 solution. I know I saved myself hundreds of dollars and the headache of having to call a plumber. Now I have what I need in the event that this were to happen again.Hope this helps you!

Good durable quality product that did the job and was easy to attach and use. Better than what was found at the hardware store that wasn't effective.

This is my third one! I have learned not to leave outside, they weather and crack. This one is better quality than some I have previously used and does the job. What can I say, my house was built in the 60’s.

Had a nasty clog somewhere under the concrete in my basement, and had only very limited use of kitchen sink and dishwasher. Its been an ongoing problem and I tried several (expensive!$$$) chemical drain cleaners with no success. Before I spent hundreds on a plumber (they want $300 just to show up with their drain rooter machine) I decided to try Drain King. IT WORKED! Hooked up a couple hoses and pushed it down near the cause of the problem. Turned on the water and listened to it work its magic. Didn't know how long to let it run, but after about 4 minutes, I figured something must have happened, so turned it off and pulled out the unit. Ran the kitchen sink for 5 minutes and NO clog or backup! Its FIXED!!!!!Thanks Drain King! Wife will be so happy and my bacon is saved!

Update: After using this several times, I've come to see this as a miracle product. It works better than a drain auger being run by a professional plumber. If the problem is a solid ball of roots, this wouldn't work, but anything less substantial and it knocks it out. Today, this let me dislodge a flushed object (pullup? ball of baby wipes?) that was clogging my main sewer line so badly that sewage backed up into my showers. It has paid for itself many times over - and doesn't charge extra for work on weekends!********Tried before using a 100' drain auger, but it couldn't clear the clog. Then did the auger. It also didn't clear the clog. Tried the Drain King again with a longer hose, had to let it work a while and let the water drain a couple times, but it finally did the job. For the money and ease of use, I will be using this every time before trying the auger. Warning: the water has to go somewhere. That's probably going to be a bathtub or sink. Have people watching so you know when to stop or you'll have sewage on the floor.

Had a bad clog in my underground drain pipes, that I just could not open up using other techniques. But the plug in a few feet was able to dig out and then turned the water on, and the pressure created blasted the clog open. Amazing
