The Dremel 1/2-Inch Drum Sander is ideal for rough-shaping and smoothing wood and fiberglass, as well as removing rust from metal and shaping rubber surfaces. Sitting atop a mandrel with a 1/8-inch shank, the cylinder sanding band is covered with coarse 60-grit aluminum oxide abrasive. This purple sanding band is easily replaceable.

This is a great Dremel tool!You tighten the removable drum with a screw in the bottom of the drum.I had bought a Dremel plastic drum sander that you pull and push to insert and remove the drum. I had the plastic drum set to hold the drum and when I used it the drum flew across the room and I have still kot found it . I returned the plastic drum sander and ordered and drum with the screw in the bottom from Amazon. I used the drum sander on parts of the wooden fish inthr attached picture

It fit my Dremel 760-01 as stated. Was more of a challenge getting the old one removed. Reinstalling was simple. I like how it trims my dogs nails and leaves no sharp edges. For nail trimming it will last me a long time.

I posted a question before buying asking if it would fit my Craftsman rotary tool ( I supplied model number) and Dremel responded very quickly that it would. I ordered this to use for my Pomeranian fur baby for his nails because paying each month to have it done at the groomers was getting old. It works like a dream! Took me ten minutes and I was able to do it in the comfort of my home. Definitely worth the money!

The 1/8 shank fits my Dremel knockoff and the 60 grit is great for sanding and sculpturing wood.

I wish Dremel would sell the sleves as a stand alone product. Notwithstanding, the product works very well and seems to be quite durable. I use it every second day to file my dog's nails. I have been using it for about two months now and the sleeve still has a fair amount of life left into it. Highly recommended.
