About this item

  • Rotation Tester: A rotation tester and AC detector for circulating pumps is a professional diagnostic tool designed to indicate electrically energized solenoids and motors as well as motor rotation on some types of pumps
  • How to Use: You can see and feel the little red and white disc rotate inside the testers housing when it is placed in a magnetic field, and you can know the direction of rotation based on the disc, helping you to determine whether the pump is running
  • Good Effect: This solenoid magnet tool makes it easy to tell when the pump motor is energized, when otherwise there is either too much background noise or vibration from other nearby equipment to hear or feel if the motor is running
  • Durable Material: Our indicator for AC magnetic fields is made of quality materials, the solenoid tester housing is made of plastic, which is hard and durable, not easy to break and be damaged. The red and white disc is made of magnet, sensitive and precise
  • Portability: This solenoid magnet tool comes with a keychain, which is compact and lightweight, making it easy to carry and store, you can put the rotation tester in your tool bag, or attach it to your keychain

Features:

Professional Tools:
If you work on HVAC systems, this little solenoid tool is excellent for testing solenoid coils. If the solenoid coil is energized, and this solenoid tester is anywhere near it, it will spin rapidly.

Applicability:
This solenoid tester works well for indicating rotation with different brand circulator pumps, including 1/10hp pumps and even 75hp pumps. It will always sense the magnetic field of any small motor.

Specifications:
Material: plastic, magnet
Color: black, red, white
Size: 2.5 x 0.8 inch/ 6.3 x 2 cm

Package includes:
1 x Solenoid tester

Notes:
Manual measurement, please allow slight errors on size.

Was hoping to pick up some solenoid testers on the cheap for myself and some coworkers, but the quality is exactly what I paid for, I guess. With limited use time (approximately testing 4 to 6 solenoids), inability to repair (seems the dome around the magnet and spacer assembly is glued shut), and incredibly long shipping time (took about 2 to 3 weeks to finally arrive), spend the 3 to 4 bucks more and look towards a different brand.

I don't know for sure but I believe mine is broken. I tried it on the solenoid for the hydronic heat system and nothing happened. The little ball never moves. I put it near a magnet to see if it was even polarized and it is. I don't know if the ball is supposed to float or something but it sits down in the pocket it's in and don't rotate.I even tried manipulating it in different places, angles, every solenoid it did nothing. I even watched a few videos.I do know there is power because the heat works good and I have indicator lights on them.Maybe I'll buy another to see if it's just this one.

This will spin when you hold it to the center of your hot water pump when the pump is operating orrectly. This is a vital indicator that everyone should have who owns a hot water circulation system. When holding it up to the center of your water circulating motor the center will spin. Since it is silver and red it is easy to read and indicates your motor is circulating the fluid in your system.

I got this tester to confirm if the circulator on my heating system was working properly. I tested it on all three, two of which, I know work fine and this tester did not move at all. I also tried it on the third zone that I'm not sure of and it also did not work. Total waste of time and money.
