The nominal size of a pipe Tap is that of the pipe fitting to be tapped, not the actual size of the Tap. The thread tapers 3/4 of an inch per foot. All pipe taps furnished with a 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 thread chamfer. Not threads require the use of a “sealer” like Teflon tape or pipe compound.

I am using these to tap components for pond/aquaponic/irrigation filtration/plumbing instead of using bulkhead connectors. They work great for that purpose. It eliminates a bunch of fittings from my projects, which means less work and less troubleshooting of leaks, etc...They're well made and well packaged tools. Very nice. No complaints.

Much like everyone else mentioned, the taps came in looking great. No issues there. The box however looked like someone threw it at a wall.

The taps were good. However, the wooden box was broken by the time it was delivered. A little stronger box would be nice.

The actual Tap set is gtreat the box took a real hammering at some point. The outside of the parcel packaging was fine but the box holding the Tap set was broken.

Product arrived fine it’s metal but box is in multiple pieces if I didn’t need the tools now I’d return it but I need it. Probably a shipping issue but none the less the storage box is unusable
