What is the Fizz Infuser and how does it work?

The Fizz Infuser is placed directly on the bottle, so the OmniFizz itself never comes into contact with liquid. Other devices connect the bottle directly to the machine, creating a mess that's impossible to clean. The Fizz Infuser has a two-stage pressure valve, so pressure release can be easily controlled for a slow release to prevent any mess with heavily foaming drinks.

Got this for a gift at Christmas, so it's about six months in. We still use it regularly. In my mind three key things to know:1) The best part is being able to fizz any liquid, not just water.I wondered how this worked but it's pretty simple. The attachment that carbonates it dismounts with the bottle rather than being stuck with the sodamaker. This means you can vent it and rinse/clean the attachment it if there's any mess, then put it back with the machine. Soda Streams don't have the removable attachment, so you risk the liquid going all over the place during venting. That's why the limit it to water. So, you can carbonate lemonade, OJ, already-mixed soda, whatever. It's awesome for that, and here's another reason why it's extra awesome - you can recarbonate that flat soda or sparking water in the fridge. We would always have a 2-liter that got flat before we drank it all. Now it doesn't go to waste. That's a money saver right there.2) You gotta do the paintball gun tanks with the nozzle attachmentThese things have a proprietary nozzle - works with Soda stream bottles - which is how they get you hooked into their bottle system for big bucks. Just get one of the nozzle adapters so you can use paintball cannisters, and then fill them up at your local sporting store / paintball store, wherever. You gotta look around but there's probably someone near you. I found one that fills 'em up for $4 a piece, and I got two cannisters. We use it roughly 5-10x per week and a cannister easily lasts a month, if not more. It's pretty easy, although there is always the risk of leaky or broken cannisters. Don't get discouraged if you get a dud at first, get a new cannister and it'll work out. If you don't do this, you are NOT saving money with this thing. And don't freak out about food-grade CO2 or some other such thing. Just buy a paintball cannister that is specifically advertised for this use, i.e., cleaned inside before you buy it. The CO2 you put in it will be clean in and of itself as long as the tank is. Oh, and there's a ton of nozzle adapters out there. I bought a stainless , non-adjustable version for around $20. Not saying you'll go wrong with the brass ones, but if it's $5, the thing is made in China and it may or may not be good quality. Caveat emptor.3) Be patient finding flavor mixesI did so much research trying to find cheap flavor mixes that would end up saving lots of money over store-bought soda. There is no magic bullet on this one. There are some that are cheaper than others, and it's all preference, so plan to experiment. Again, the way we saved the most money was by reducing the amount of waste on soda and sparkling water we already bought by recarbonating it, and there are a few mixes we prefer. If you just like having control over your drink flavors, you'll enjoy this thing. If you want to save money, this can do it too. We went from spending >$15 a week on soda and sparking water (half my family won't drink just tap water, go figure) to Either way, it takes a little effort to find your groove with it, but once you do, it's a great thing to have. Highly recommended.

I don't give out 5 stars lightly, IMO a product has to be truly exceptional to earn that 5th star. This gets that 5th star without reservation. Coming from a Sodastream (SS), I was initially a little hesitant after seeing some of the negative reviews in large part because I wasn't familiar with the Drinkmate's mechanics, but please be rest assured those were errors on the part of the user. This thing is as easy as it gets to set up and use.The fizz your drinks get are "crisper" than from the SS for near as I can tell, the same amount of gas. As a bonus though, due to how its designed, you can carbonate just about any liquid you care to drink. I've compared the "bubbliness" with friends who own a SS, and they immediately noticed the difference and like me, preferred it over what you get from a SS.A note about carbonating anything. Different liquids WILL react differently, and will expand within the bottle unlike water, so you have to use shorter and lighter pulses to avoid a mess. I've experimented with a variety of liquids, and with the exception of iced tea and cold brew coffee, other liquids will definitely react and require more patience and finesse. Even so, it's a LOT more user friendly than the SS when it comes to this. I only mention this so that people don't slap a wine or apple juice in place expecting it to behave like water does.A note about the cartridges. While I appreciate the efforts Drinkmate has made to source them locally for exchanges, the simple fact is this is where it and SS's value drops off a cliff. Do yourself a favor and buy a CGA320 to TR21-4 hose like this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08L795VRB?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Then go to a local Airgas or sporting goods outlet and get yourself a CO2 tank. I personally go to a Airgas outlet and buy a 25lb canister for about $45, difference being I only buy a refill once a year and I drink 2-4 bottles of carbonated drinks/water a day.An added benefit is the Drinkmate doesn't require any electricity, you just hook up the gas and go. As for spare bottles, both Drinkmate and 3rd parties sell bottles suitable for the unit at a reasonable price. You won't regret having a extra bottle or two to put in the freezer for 30 minutes prior to fizzing for a notably stronger fizz (colder water accepts the gas better).

I had a SodaStream a while ago, which I gave away when I bought a new fridge that has sparkling water in the door. When I first saw this thing in a demo on TV though I wanted one. They are comparable in that they both work well at carbonating stuff, but that is where it ends. The ability to carbonate things other than water made this so worth buying, even with the new fridge. Because you can remove the carbonator head and rinse it off, you don't need to stick to just water as you would with SodaStream, want your favorite juice fizzy? No problem. A unique wine? Yup. (I'm currently sipping a newly fizzified pomegranate wine I bought at Fresh Market.) This is so going to up my sangria game this summer! If you're used to a SodaStream they are very similar. They use the same CO2 bottles, though this doesn't have a way to fit the huge ones. You press the button on top to carbonate, but that is slightly different. Because you can remove the bottle with the carbonator head, you can shake it up to make it fizzier with less CO2. I found to get something good and fizzy with the SS I had to add twice as much as they recommended. With this that isn't such a problem. You carbonate, remove the bottle with the carbonator head and shake it a bit. Let it settle for a while then slowly release the pressure before taking the carbonator off your bottle. You end up with plenty of fizz without having to add way more CO2 than usual. If you get this, also get the smaller soda bottles as they are very useful for fizzing small amounts, like fizzing just enough juice or wine for serving vs. the whole thing. Because this comes with a small CO2 bottle you can use it the day you get it, but you will want to get the normal sized bottles to use later on.

I bought it because it carbonates not just water but juice too. After using for awhile I realized that anything with a high sugar content foams up more. So I just half fill the container before carbonizing or it foams over when using the releaae valve. Works perfectly for my water and water additives and I use it everyday. Love it! Also... it carbonized faster, better with refrigerated water. But I use my cold tap water. I have hard well water but only one time in the last 5 months did I have water deposits form on inside tube. So not needing bottled water thankfully.

Very expensive product that is delivered from the USA. It took about 2 weeks to deliver this item. The high price is presumably due to import tariffs and transportation costs. I could have bought the same item from a European supplier for less than half I paid for it via Amazon. I’m now an older, wiser and somewhat poorer man.

Does the job well, better than sodastream. We use it for water mostly but we did re-bubble a sparkling wine that wasn’t as bubbly as expected and it worked perfectly. You have to respect the maximum quantity though.

This wonderful contraption was able to breath life into my favourite wine and give it an extra bubbly sensation to make it a truely magical libation. This alone makes it magical to me but during the day it also supplies me with sparkling water and juice with little to no effort. This is very easy to operate and easy to clean. I chose this initially as it was rated highly and does not void the warrenty when you use liquids other than water.I am so please with my Drinkimate the only issue I had was with the starter co2 canister; however, that could have been user error. Thankfully, the Sodastream canisters can be used in the Drinkmate and I was able to get one at Canadian Tire that afternoon.
