I have used these for years and tend to lose them, they have never broken! They are great fro threading ties/elastic/etc. through narrow hems and have been useful in a variety of non-sewing ways including threading a wire through the back of a stove :) I am purchasing this as I use it so much I want one for non-sewing projects.

This is about the only show in town for working with Amsteel, Zing It, Lash It, and similar advanced cordage projects for creating the buries that provide the "chinese finger puzzle" compression locking that makes these projects useful for hammock suspension items, ridge lines, and so on. Now a good length of 28 AWG solid wire is likely as good and effective, but the stiffness of the tool and its length makes it so appealing and generally useful. However, the capture link can become dislodged if you're not careful, and the tool's hook lodged in the cordage. So be careful to gently twist and pull the bury into and through the cord. The link can be re-installed into the tool at the hook, but the trick is finding and handling that tiny piece of metal to align it and snap it back into place.

I purchase several things on Amazon, and was giving pretty in-depth reviews. From this point on, here's the new agenda…. if it works as advertised, is well made, meets or exceeds the description, is a value, and arrives in a fair amount of time, it will get a "star rating" equal to what my expectations were/are. If it doesn't meet these criteria, then I will most definitely and descriptively tell the short comings of the products and you as a consumer will not have to go through the trouble of buying the product without some background knowledge. If the sell pulls that item and relists under another description I will put the exact same review on the seller's feedback page. Seller's have done this a couple of times in the past, and I was true to my word then as well as now. DR

I realized I was doing it wrong!! It was my fault, not the turner. I just so happened to see a girl on you tube use it the correct way.

I frequently sew very tiny tubes and turning them is a complete pain (giant understatement). I've tried lots of different things that don't involve tools but finally broke down and bought this on a recommendation and haven't been that impressed. It's flimsy and I don't like how it operates. There's basically a hook on the end that you punch through the end of your fabric, which you then draw back through the tube you've just sewn. You have to hope your fabric is strong enough not to fray and that you've left enough fabric that however it turns out, you can cut off the ragged ends.I already have , which I use for pretty much everything else I have to turn. It comes with three different sized tubes and is easy to use without damaging my fabric. I just wish it came with one small enough for turning tiny loops. Until then I'm stuck with something like this which is far better than nothing.
