Tool is a must when replacing CV boot straps when part of the shaft remains in the car. Quite often, access to the crimp for a long handled tool is impossible. You typically need to hold the tool with a stubby wrench to tighten the crimp jaws with ratchet and socket. But this tool will allow you to get the job done; will help you save time by not removing the entire axle shaft!

I bought this for a little over 20 bucks. You can tighten CV axle clamps much more than with the generic clamp tool. Lexus manual calls for identical special tool and specifies
