My husband keeps telling me the smoke detector is not a kitchen timer. What can I say? It's impossible to make smash burgers without a bit of smoke, and the vent in our kitchen is about useless. But in case one time the smoke detector goes off there's actually a real fire, I decided it was a good idea to have a fire extinguisher in the kitchen, and ordered this one.The pros: It's a nice, small size that doesn't take up a lot of room; it's small enough to sit on the counter. The videos and information about this equipment are very helpful. The cons: You just have to hope it works when you need it because there's no gauge on it and it's a one-shot deal, so you can't test it in advance. Also, this type of extinguisher uses a powder that makes a huge mess unlike a Halon extinguisher (but Halon types are very expensive, so you have to decide what's more important to you). Finally, the price is a little high relative to competitors. That being said, every house should have at least one, but preferably more wherever there is fire danger, and I speak from experience. One night as we slept, a lithium ion camera battery on the charger in our empty guestroom exploded and started a fire. The fire was starting to take off by the time we heard the smoke detector. If my husband didn't have the presence of mind to go for a fire extinguisher in the garage immediately, we would have lost that room and it's contents, if not the whole house. His quick thinking saved our home and pets. That taught me firsthand how important extinguishers are, so I can't emphasize enough how necessary fire safety equipment is. After that, we placed a few in strategic locations throughout the house, but for some reason, we forgot about the kitchen. Now this one is there, close at hand - just in case.

My niece's daughter was cooking chicken and a grease fire started. It took her 3 fire extinguishers to get the fire out. The fire department told her, having and using 3 extinguishers had most likely saved her home. Because this happened, I now think the one fire extinguisher might not be enough. I plan to buy a few more of these for my home.* This extinguisher is smaller than the ones you see in most business. It is home sized. Its size makes it easier to store somewhere in your kitchen. Business sized ones are usually too big to fit under the sink or on the kitchen counter.* Has instructions on how to use it on the back. I would make sure you and your family read it now, before an emergency. The directions say you pull the black tab on top straight out, then you are ready to spray.* The extinguisher says it works for fire from: Ordinary solid material, Cooking oils, Gas and vapor, Electrical equipment and flammable liquid fires.* The date tested on the bottom of the can says "01/2023"

Small enough to use in variety of settings: under a kitchen sink, inside a car trunk, boat galley, RV, workspace, motorcycle saddle bag, utility closet.. places a fire could commonly break out. I put confidence into products claims with the thorough literature and the research results provided.Purchasing a fire extinguisher isn’t based on a quantity of product but rather, the specific quality choices of products used. This smaller option includes known chemicals/components to stifle and expel a flame.. those being safety regulated/approved. At $40 it’s a price point that must come down to be accessible by any income.Unit feels solidly constructed with integrity- including easy dispersing nozzle. *Instructions printed on exterior are simple, clear and easily understood. **This point is vital.. fire extinguisher must be user-friendly for anyone at any time- and this delivers. Hoping info helps decision.. stay safe everyone.

Can only give it a *** star because I got this for my car, the temperature has been very low and I’m afraid that it might explode in the car. But for now the size seems about right for a very small fire and the weight of it isn’t too uncomfortable to carry. I haven’t had to use it yet.

We needed this for wax play safety and therefore needed something that was probable to take to different events. This is perfect! It’s a handy little size and seems easy to use although we haven’t needed to yet (and hopefully don’t!). I can see it being useful in any place where you’re strapped for space or need to take it somewhere with you.

The product seems overpriced at $48 for a 600 gram fire extinguisher without a mounting bracket. Bought it because of the compact size to store in my ATV kit for summer trail riding. Disappointed to discover the manufacture stamp indicated July 2023; I guess the Seller does not sell much of this product. Hopefully the fire extinguisher lasts the next 10-12 years and I do not need to use it at all.
