TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM:
- Motor is not working
Cause: 1) Wires in the main plug or in the socket are loose. 2) The switch is faulty.
Solution: 1) Have the socket and plug checked by an authorized technician. 2) Have the switch replaced by an authorized technician.
- Unusual noises occur during operation/Motor is not working properly.
Cause: 1) Switch contact has failed. 2) Components have jammed. 3) Too high of load has been applied.
Solution: 1) Have the switch replaced by an authorized technician. 2) Have the tool checked and repaired. 3) Using less pressure during sanding operations.
- Motor gets hot
Cause: 1) Foreign substances have gotten inside the motor. 2) Too high of load has been applied.
Solution: 1) Have the foreign substances removed. 2) Have the switch replaced by an authorized technician.
- Frequent sparks occur on the commutator
Cause: 1) There is a short circuit in the motor(armature) 2) Carbon brushes are worn out or jammed.
Solution: 1) Have the armature replaced. 2) Have the carbon brushes checked.

I ordered this sander to sand the ceiling in my bathroom. I had already removed the popcorn off the ceiling and needed this to sand the ceiling prior to painting. It looked good out of the box with no shipping damage. The vacuum bag is cheaply built, and I did not use it at all. I hooked this sander to my shop vacuum. There were attachments with the sander that connected the sander hose to my shop vacuum hose easily. There was little to no dust at all using the sander with the shop vacuum. It was not hard to set up or use. It's pretty easy to understand. But it's heavy and I mean very heavy. Don't think you're going to sand your whole ceiling without taking breaks unless you are in some amazing shape. It does a great job sanding the ceiling. The light was very helpful to see where I've been and areas I still needed to sand. The cord and vacuum hose were plenty long enough for my job and I did not have any issues with it getting tangled at my feet. It made the ceiling look fresh as if the builders just installed the sheetrock. IT does not get right up to the edge of the ceiling and wall, leaving about 2 inches to manually sand clear around the edges. I'll defiantly use it to sand the other bathroom without prior removing of the popcorn as I think it will do the job without all the mess of spraying the ceiling with water and manually removing the popcorn. I would recommend this sander for weekend remodelers, but I don't know how it would hold up to a professional sheet rocker. It took very little time to sand our bathroom ceiling and saved me a lot of extra back work.

I am a contrctor and built a 20' x40' x20' high room inside a warehouse. The unit worked great it does get heavy after a while especially on the ceiling. The built in suction works but its just not enough you need wet vac attaached with multiple good filters and a long hose. Filters they get clogged every 15 to 20 min, bang them out and keep going gives you a chance to rest your arms. I was able to sand the whole room in-side outside and ceiling bymyself in less than 1 day. Even if i buy a new one for each project it was worth it as a time saver.

Works ok.... BUT you need a shop vac to take care of the dust. There is a vacuum bag that comes with the item BUT it's pretty useless. (The directions say that you will need a shop vac to take care of the sheetrock dust). The light on the sander is good but even with the shop vac it's very average.

I’m a general contractor and occasionally do my own dry wall. I’ve used the hilti sanders that you can rent and several others . This one works surprisingly well ! You most definitely will need to hook it up to a shop vac as the vacuum that is built in is no where near strong enough to keep the dust down . But it really does a good job overall . I’d buy it again.

The tool didn’t perform near expectations . Directions were hard to follow and didn’t match up with troubleshooting activities. Everytime I lowered the tool the dust that may contain asbestos flew everywhere except the vaccumn bag that came with a hole in it. I will not be recommending this product to anyone I know . To those of you that purchased it and had better luck than me . I’m happy for you, got the rest that are thinking about it . Be warned
