"Labor-Saving" in the product description is exactly right. This made easy work of removing the terrible texture the previous owner of my house sprayed on the bathroom ceiling. I'd been dreading the task of scraping and sanding it off... but this sander was a godsend. It's not very heavy, and the shoulder strap saved my back and arms. The sander works great and got through the project, no problems.I have a shop vac, so I hooked up to that to help with dust and it worked well... drywall dust is the glitter of the home construction world, it gets everywhere. The vacuum attachment certainly helped, but it's not magic. Still seal the room and protect things you don't want dusty.Highly recommend if you'd doing any drywall work... it just makes the worst part of the task so much faster and easier.

Took longer than expected to need to use this, I'd just finished the project I originally needed it for when it arrived *face palm*It does a good job tho! I've finally gotten around to using it after repairing an apartment after the last tenants were evicted and left holes punched in the walls, even found an area where they were using the wall as a knife throwing target *heavy sigh*I found this to work well for sanding before painting, reasonable weight to work with. The vacuum portion of it definitely picked up a lot but I wouldn't say it got everything by a long shot, I haven't used one of these before but compared to normal sanders with dust collectors there no comparison lol.

This worked very well to sand a lot of drywall quickly.I wasn't sure how good of a job it would do in actually preventing dust - and I was amazed. It did a GREAT job (hooked up to the shop vac - I did not try it directly into the provided dust collection bag). This made quick work of my drywall sanding job.I was apprehensive at first due to the weight of the machine, but it actually was surprisingly easy to use and maneuver against the walls - I did not try ceilings yet.It has provided extra strapping / harness to help take the load that I haven't had to use yet as well.Overall, I was pleasantly surprised in using this sander, and I think it definitely saves time in just sanding, but also cleanup with the good dust collection system. So far, I would definitely recommend it.

It's a heavy beast of a sander, so be prepared for that. The handle can extend a couple of extra feet. The head articulates and stays on the wall well. There is an adjustment for side-to-side motion that I tightened down, which made it stop chittering on the wall when sanding. The multi-speed setting is nice, makes it easy to control how much is taken off with different grits of paper. The kit comes with a carry bag, a mask, safety glasses, and ear plugs (all cheap, but there for when I forget), and several sandpaper discs in two grits. It also comes with a dust collection bag, which I didn't bother trying to use - I hooked it up to a shop vac and used it that way. It made short work of a couple of large walls, getting them sanded well enough that only minor touchups in the corners were necessary. It can leave sanding marks if you press too hard or stay in one place too long, so standard rotary sander techniques apply. It has a nice long cord, which was an unexpected bonus.

We are repairing a wall and this is awesome. It catches all the excess dust. I thought it wouldnt remove it but it works. Its smooth and lightweight. Tons of extras This is a workers dream!

I am by no means a professional drywaller, I am just a guy that doesn't like to pay people to do jobs I am fully capable of doing myself. As a power sander, this thing does ok. It's a little awkward to control and tricky to get a consistent finish. The vacuum feature is a joke. The suction power is tied to the sander's speed so on the low setting there is basically no suction at all. I ended up rigging up my shop vac to the hose and that ended up helping a lot. The manual is basically useless. it 4 pages of safety junk and one page of poorly written direction on what every thing does. Still, it's a heck of a lot better than doing it all by hand so maybe worth it?
