Product Description

EDSYN, SOLDAPULLT, THE ORIGINAL, SOLDER SUCKER, SOLDERING, DESOLDERING

EDSYN | THE ORIGINAL SOLDAPULLT - MADE IN CALIFORNIA FOR OVER 60 YEARS

EDSYN has been successful in the design and manufacture of portable, hand-held desoldering tools for over 60 years. The removal of solder using a desoldering-pump is still one of the most popular and best methods available today. EDSYN invented and patented the world’s first solder sucker also known as SOLDAPULLT back in 1961 and continues to manufacture these tools in its factory in Van Nuys, California. Simplifying processes was the driving force behind the innovation that created the legacy we know as the SOLDAPULLT. These tools are easy to use, cost efficient and easy to maintain.

THE RIGHT TOOL FOR DESOLDERING

Faulty components and design changes are just two reasons why the need to rework electronic assemblies exists. Rework requires skill and dexterity from the technician and having the right tools are essential in ensuring the end results are accomplished and professional. EDSYN has been successful in the design and manufacture of portable, hand-held desoldering tools for over sixty years and the removal of solder using a desoldering-pump is still one of the most popular and best methods available today.

DS017 CONTENTS

THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE ORIGINAL SOLDAPULLT

Each EDSYN SOLDAPULLT operates on the principle of a spring-loaded plunger in a barrel. The plunger extends the full length of the barrel before being drawn back into the barrel to create a strong vacuum impulse. A trigger button activates the plunger including the self-cleaning shaft which acts as a valve during the initial vacuum stroke. As the shaft leaves the tip, a high-vacuum impulse force is created to lift the molten solder. These features are proprietary and have made EDSYN's desoldering tools "world famous" for decades.

THREE HEAVY DUTY MODELS TO CHOOSE FROM

There are 3 models to choose from for heavy duty and industrial usage; models DS017, AS196 and DS017LS. All these tools will quickly and efficiently desolder larger PCB connections, terminals and connectors. The portable size of these pumps delivers easy one-handed loading and operation. A simple push-button trigger quickly releases the oversized plunger to create an immediate and direct vacuum impulse at the desoldering tip; while the integral cleaning shaft self-cleans the tip each time the tool is reloaded. A convenient bayonet twist barrel allows each of these pumps to be taken apart for fast routine cleaning. They are all manufactured using durable corrosion resistant materials for a longer life. The table below highlights the differences enabling you to choose the right tool for your specific job.

This solder sucker is amazing. It has an amazing amount of suction, which works very well to suck up molten solder from joints one is trying to unsolder. I used to have an old radio-shack style metal cylinder sucker that I can no longer locate. So I went ahead and bought this one after reading through some of the reviews online. The reviews did not lie, this is a very good solder sucker with lots of suction. Compared to the old RS unit it is like night and day. If you are still using a sucker with weak suction, you would be well suited to go ahead and buy one of these, as the difference is well worth the price of this unit.Plus, it is made in the USA, which is a major added plus.Edit: I've now had the opportunity to use the Soldapullt several times to desolder components for diagnostics/repair, and it does an absolutely amazing job of removing the solder. Heat the joint with an iron, put the tip against the joint and press the release button, and all the molten solder is sucked away. It is so effective that I've actually had a couple components simply fall out under their own weight when sucking the solder off the last joint. This tool is highly recommended and **well worth** the price. You will not be disappointed in how well the tool accomplishes its job.

Made in the USA. Great product and been around for years. By far the best manual solder sucker. And unlike others, you can actually purchase the internal parts for repair. Won't disappoint.

I had a shop accident, which destroyed my solder sucker I've been using for many years. I dropped something heavy on it and it shattered. Tried one of he "modern" sucker tools, and it was miserably inadequate. Ordered this because it described itself as the original. Though it was pricey, compared to the Chinese knock-offs, I took a chance on it, and was not disappointed. It's exactly like my original, and works very well. To me, it's worth its premium price, because it's a premium device.

These are well made, last for years, and have excellent suction. Faster and more complete than solder wick, and easy to operate one-handed. The company sells replacements for virtually every part, so with some regular maintenance, should last for years.

I occasionally do wiring on circuits and on car wiring. There are times when you need to remove old or excess solder in order to remove or install new components. You can do this with solder wick or a suction tool. This is the same tool I used many years ago when working as a technician. It works great, easy to clear out old solder, and is very light weight. I was working on a battery charger a few weeks back and had to remove a lot of solder around an SCR. This worked as well as I remember. There was too much solder to remove with solder wick and the "solder sucker" removed the excess solder immediately. Just like the old days.

This works fine. The plastic looks like it is stamped out on a worn out press but the device still works. The spring is REALLY harder to push compared to the originals that I used for many years. It can be a little annoying to re-arm due to that. Maybe with use that will improve.

I saw this tool being used on a YouTube video and had never seen one with that large of a barrel. I started investigating and found out who made it. There is nothing better for work on old boards from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. It cleans the larger through hole components almost without fail he first time. Add a bit of new solder, and then suck it all up.There are times that this doesn't work perfectly since it is quite long and larger diameter than the traditional aluminum ones. It doesn't fit everywhere. I like the small aluminum ones for some things, but always miss the power of the larger one. I also like that I can cock one handed on the table or on my leg.As an FYI, It is really hard to write a review about a solder sucker without sounding pervy.

Entre todos os sugadores que usei, este é o único que funciona de fato. Tenho um desse em uso desde início de 1980.

Great product. Super simple to use and it does a great job. I am no expert in soldering and my first attempt at capping a monitor chassis was made easier with this tool. Quality seems really good but again I am no expert. Would recommend
