I've had this muffler on my turbo e30 for a few years. While my e30 rarely gets driven due to being in a constant state of "project car" I do know that I like how it sounds. My daily driver is a 2005 Lancer Evolution that I bought used. It came with a Tanabe Gold Medallion Blue cat-back exhaust. It should also be known that my car has HKS 272 cams AND no catalytic converter so it is LOUD. This Dynomax muffler was the only way I could bring the sound level down and keep it 3". It sounds mostly like a normal car, but a slight amount more "presence". At idle it still has a nice rumble and produces that cool camming lumpy sound, but does not drone at all while driving. I'm very, very happy with the sound. I never really wanted to be that noisy guy, but got used to it and got lazy about changing mufflers. Now it's so stealthy and grown-up.The only thing that deterred me from going with this muffler (for my Evo) is that it's aluminized. I have a small pile of stainless mufflers in my garage that I bought to test out with the primary goal being to make my car quiet. They failed at that. My secondary goal was to keep my entire exhaust system stainless. I'm very disappointed that this muffler only comes aluminized. I would have bought this in the first place if it were stainless. Maybe I'm the only person who wants REAL quiet (not fake quiet) and stainless because it seems that no muffler manufacturer offers this. This is the reason I gave it 4 stars.

Put this muffler on my 03 Ram 1500 as a replacement for a rusted out Flowmaster. I was over how obnoxiously loud the truck was any way. Guess that happens as you get older. Anyways, I really like the mellow, deep tone of this muffler. Quiet at idle but lets you know its there when you get on it. Its just what I was looking for. At this point its just been installed so it may change as the muffler breaks in since this one does have the fiberglass matting inside of it. And it fit just as described. 3" inlet and outlet. And thats the inside diameter of them so you can just clamp it on some 3" outside diamteter pipe. Makes it easy.

EDIT: The muffler has gotten very loud as the glass packing has been nlown out, going to tty repacking it or will replace it as it's too loud currently, also drones badly at highway speeds.Original: I installed this on a 07 Ford F150, running headers and no cats, the factory resonator was very loud when stepping on it, after removing it and opening it up I see why, they are constructed of a straight through pipe with tuning chambers, no restriction.This toned it down dramatically, has a nice deep tone now, does drone some at around 100 kmh, clears up nicely at 110 to 115 kmh.Much lighter than the resonator as well, so a nice upgrade to make the truck less brappy.It hooked up nicley to the original 3" pipes as well, no adapters needed, though I had to make an extension to replace some rotted pipe the previous owner must have installed.
