We had very high hopes for the these holders to enable us to use lamp shades that each requires a harp. They almost do the job, and we do have one shade on, but this product doesn't screw on and has a tendency to wobble. We secured it with some museum putty but really thought it would be more stable. Yes, the other reviews should have given us a clue that this would happen, but we wanted to try it anyway as these were far less expensive than purchasing a new lamp shade or two. It's a great concept. We had also hoped to use one of the holders on an older lamp, but the piece just slid all the way down to the switch mechanism rendering it useless.
