I bought this tray for my seedling punnets. I wanted something more durable than the overpriced catchment trays you get in garden shops. This item surpassed my expectations. It is VERY strong. I estimate the walls to be about a centimeter thick, made from a plastic that is very tough yet not very heavy. It is large and roomy enough that my seedlings will get plenty of airflow, and the black plastic should help retain heat and improve germination. The ridges on the bottom are quite deep as well, which means my seedlings' roots will be well protected from sitting directly in water. Best of all, the tray is extremely stiff and absolutely will not sag when carried.Although not intended for this particularly purpose, I don't think I could have bought a better catchment tray for seed-starting.

First of all, I bought this unit to use for another purpose than a boot tray. I have a wine cellar which uses an external refrigeration unit in a closet that was leaking from condensation and wanted to put a drain pan under it. The 160+ pound unit fits perfectly inside this tray and it sits on the ridges up out of any moisture. I later drilled a drain hole in one end to siphon any condensate to a sump pump. The tray is very (nicely) over engineered for boots but perfect for my needs. I'm pretty sure that if I can re-purpose this tray to sit a 160 pound refrigeration unit on it, it will last forever if it is utilized for its intended use. As far as construction is concerned, the tray is ridged and made of plastic about 1/4" thick. It looks like the kind of plastic some park benches are made out of, I don't know how to describe it better than that.

Just the right size to put over a picnic table that I use to pot and repot plants without getting everything dirty. Very sturdy and thick so it has a lot of weight to it. Will get many years of use out of this tray, probably forever.

Product is extremely sturdy. It actually came up when I was looking for boot trays. I like the extra 3 inches of width and 6 inches of length than the average tray. It is much heavier also. So if you are looking for something that will last pay the few extra $$.

We have purchased 3 of these trays. We liked the first tray so much that we ordered two more. It snows where we live so the first tray is in our mud room to hold boots and outdoor shoes. The next trays are to provide a contained area where I can put plants that cannot winter over outside. The quality is great and I would recommend them to anyone.

I bought two of these for boot trays, mainly because they were exactly the right size to fill my closet floor. More money than I would like, but they will be here long after the house falls down around them. Thick, heavy construction with a tall lip all around.

This was exactly what I was looking for. I used it to determine the footprint (size) of a bird cage I was building. I needed something 36 inches long but the width was determined by whatever tray I could find. 18 inches was ideal. I use this tray at the bottom of the cage where my bird loves to thrash his beak around in the ground-up corn cob. By the way, one bag of corn cob litter fills this tray perfectly. The tray is made very well. The bottom is wavy or corrigated. I assume this adds strength. If you need a flat bottom, this is not the tray for you. I am very happy with this purchase.

This tray is the thickest and most heavy-duty tray I have ever purchased. I ordered it for my puppy to line some pee pads in, but I think it maybe an overkill. You can probably drop an elephant on there and it will not crack. :)Highly recommend!

I am using this tray to put under my snow blower. It is very heavy duty and is large enough to capture all the snow that melts. I would buy it again

I ordered it as a boot tray and it is very solid, durable and larger than most on the market. If you are looking for something a little more robust than the average tray...this one's for you.

A lot thicker than I expected. They're like 3/16 to 1/4 inch thick. I guess that explains the price.
