It’s a little heavy for me and somewhat tricky for me to use. I’m in my 60’s and I wanted something that I felt I could safely store gas for my lawnmower and leave in the garage. I had a plastic can that was crappy for lack of a better word. Gas leaked and vapors oozed out all the time, it never made a decent seal. So far, this can works. No leaks or smells.

So far this can works very well. The 5/8's filler allows you to refill an automobile without spilling. easy to fill as the gas pump. I bought this can and the JustRite Accuflow 5 gal can at the same time for a comparison. I like the Eagle safety can spout much more compared to the Justrite AccuFlow (7250120). The Justrite requires you to bolt on the filler spout and one of the bolts wasn't in the packaging. That was a pain to drive to the hardware store for a bolt just to attach the pour spout. The Eagle can is about 1-1/2 inches larger in diameter and 2 inches shorter compared to the JustRite Can. In the back of the truck the Eagle can remains stable in turns and doesn't fall over. Also, made in the USA. I'd give it six stars if I could.

They went to using plastic for the filler release handle. It does not open the air vent. I returned two of these. I have bought Eagle products my whole life. No more. Bought a Justrite. All metal parts. Same $$.

This is a good quality metal can. At least one reviewer complained about peeling paint, but the paint is fine for the most part. I did notice very small chips in the paint, but that should not lead to rust that will compromise the integrity of the metal, as these type of gas canisters will last forever. The metal spout is good to have, as regular metal cans are easy to spill. Plastic cans almost universally come with spouts, but they tend to spill easily, and now they have become difficult to use due to EPA requirements. This safety can is worth the price - it will last you a long time, and will be easy to use.

Wish the design was better for holding the valve open while pouring gas. Slightly awkward, but am getting used to it.The material and design seems sturdy so far, but I try to be gentle with things that could explode...At least it's made in the USA - which was my major reason for buying - oh - any wanting a gas can that willprevent me from becoming a human torch in case of an accident. Bursting into flames is a bad end to anyone's day. This can will help prevent that. Buy it or another one like it. You be surprised how often accidents happen with gasoline -seriously - be careful folks! Just wish the big box stores sold them instead of the cheap dangerous crap made in CHINA.

These cans are great .. both this smaller size and the larger size. Finally got rid of all the plastic cans! No drip, no smell during storage. Easy to control the amount being delivered. The silver handle is funny and it works better if you just put your hand on it without thinking and pull. If you try and figure out how the handle works, it doesn't seem like it should work ... sorta like when you're walking down stairs and trying to look through the bottom of your glasses. Just walk down the stairs ... aka pull the handle, and it works! It's a little more to get these cans, but you will enjoy every minute using them.

I love this gas can, but I felt it was worthwhile to knock off some stars. Understandably, the design of the can puts safety before all other concerns. The spring for the filling opening is very strong, enough to lift the whole can. If you are pouring liquid from a gas nozzle or a larger gas tank, you have to tilt the can forward, lift it up, and pry the fill opening open and hold everything in place while pouring. I found it to be a somewhat strenuous task. At least I know I could throw this can across my workshop, flipping end over end, and it would probably not get a leak out of the fill cap -- but that is no way to treat $75 dollars worth of powder-coated equipment. Right, you say those are the safety regulations, but strain makes tasks less safe. I'd prefer a twist cap with a chain attaching it to the can. That's all.The air vent handle is easy to reach while pouring, a substantial tilt of the can is required to get gas flowing. I looked for it and I did notice that in hard to reach corners (where moisture is more likely to persist) there were some tiny areas where the powder coating was absent, but the rest of the can had a beautiful finish and I really was pleased with the look of a brand new can.

This is the best safety gas can there is. It is made of thick walled sheet steel, the spout is long enough and flexible enough to pour safely into any tank, The valve could be difficult to keep open if you don't have strong hands but it is positive and closes securely. It isn't cheap but if you want a strong tough can that will keep your gas where it belong, namely in the can and in the tank, this is the one to buy.

The good: easy to use, you just screw on the flexible spout that comes with it, or the smaller diameter one that's available. Pours well, thanks to the design of the handle that opens the pouring spout while slightly opening the filling spout that also acts as a vent in this case. Nice finish. The "However": Amazon should update the picture, since the shipping model has the plastic handle, as per the picture on Eagle's website. Also, capacity is 2.5 US gallons (not 2 as the listing would imply), which is a bit more than 2 Imperial gallons.Overall, I am very pleased with the Eagle.
