I ordered this pair of SAFEBUILDER Ear Muffs Noise Reduction SNR 33dB Adjustable Lightweight Safety Earmuffs to wear at the shooting range.It will be a few weeks before I can make it over to the shooting range, so I tested these just around my neighborhood (which seems to have no lack of annoying noises.) They are fairly comfortable and provide a tight seal. They have a high degree of adjustability so they should work well regardless of your head size.When tested against my TV playing at normal volume, these ear muffs blocked all of the sound. I took them outside to test the against a leaf blower that my neighbor's gardeners were using. Although I could still hear the leaf blower, the sound level was greatly reduced.It's hard to say how well these will work at the shooting range. I do own a set of noise reduction ear buds that don't work well enough on their own for the range, but if these ear muffs are not enough I could certainly pair them up with the ear buds. I'll come back and update this review once I've had the change to test these ear muffs at the range.

It's a headset for ear protection for noise, it does what it's supposed to do very well. I would recommend these earmuffs.

I used to go target shooting and these muffs seem like they might just be good enough to the shooting range. I will have to test that to know for certain. I know that they're good enough for the wood shop.For absolute safety I prefer using ear plugs that completely insert into your ear canal for most noise reduction.For my use these are best for short term noise where you don't want to be inserting and removing plugs. Just pop them on and take them back off as often as you like. Like in your workshop.I think having both kinds of safety equipment is a good idea. If someone is shooting a high powered rifle near me I believe that both plugs and muffs might be required to completely protect you ear drums.I do like these ear muffs, but I have a concern in Arizona for heat tolerance. Muffs get way too hot in the summer for comfort, so plugs are best for times like that.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these ear muffs, but can't give them the maximum rating them until they've been proven at the shooting range.
