About this item

  • 24 PORT CAT6 PATCH PANEL: This patch panel enables quick, easy cable patching. Just plug Cat6 cables into its 24 front RJ45 ports, and use a 110 or Krone punch-down tool to terminate color-coded connections in the rear.
  • POWER OVER ETHERNET PLUS: This PoE plus patch panel maximizes performance with PoE plus applications. Power over Ethernet patch panel prevents spark-gap erosion that can affect transmission.
  • 1U RACK MOUNTING: The high-density patch panel supports mounting in 1U of space in EIA-standard 19-inch racks. Included cable ties and a removable cable management bracket help organize your connections.
  • WIRING STANDARDS: The N250-P12 supports EIA/TIA 568A and 568B wiring standards and is compatible with all network applications. This PoE plus patch panel is TAA-Compliant for GSA schedule purchases. Also known as: poe Ethernet patch panel / PoE plus network panel / patch panel rack / network patch panel / Cat6 patch panel / Cat 6 patch panel.

24-Port Patch Panel Manages and Organizes High-Density Cat6 Network Cabling
This patch panel enables quick, easy cable patching. Just plug Cat6 cables into its 24 front RJ45 ports, and use a 110 or Krone punch-down tool (do not use a 4/5 pair 110 punch-down tool) to terminate color-coded connections in the rear. Both the front and rear connectors are clearly numbered, and the front ports have blank labels to help you identify individual cable runs. The N252-P24 supports EIA/TIA 568A and 568B wiring standards and is compatible with all network applications.
Specifically Designed for Use in Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) Applications
This Power over Ethernet patch panel maximizes performance with PoE+ applications. It prevents spark-gap erosion that degrades the plug and jack contacts over time and can affect data and/or power transmission capabilities. The N252-P24 is designed to handle the frequent mating and unmuting of surveillance cameras, VoIP phone systems, wireless access points and other PoE and PoE+ devices under electrical load.
Mounts in 1U of Space in Your 19 in. Enclosure or Open Frame Rack
The high-density patch panel supports mounting in 1U of space in EIA-standard 19-inch racks. Included cable ties and a removable cable management bracket help organize your connections, cut down on cord clutter and maintain stable performance.
TAA-Compliant for GSA Schedule Purchases
The N252-P24 is compliant with the Federal Trade Agreements Act (TAA), which makes it eligible for GSA (General Services Administration) Schedule and other federal procurement contracts.

I bought this along with a TPlink switch and a 19" wall mount cabinet. It was an easy install (for an amateur like me). The build quality is good and it feels solid. I wanted to go with a well known brand to try and compensate for some variables, and that costs a bit more money than some of the less expensive brands, but i was willing to spend a couple of extra dollars for that piece of mind. I was not disappointed. The "instructions" were lacking but quick trip to youtube and some simple intuition made it an easy install. I don't know how to use the "cable management bar", or if i did it right, but i did all the wiring first, then i installed the bar, draped the cables over it and zip tied them down to it in pairs. It worked to take the strain off the cables and keep them organized. Overall i'm pleased with the purchase.

I got to use it in a small 10U rack; it fit right in w/o issueeasy to punch down all my connections. For the ones I have connected (16/24) all tested out at spec for CAT6; I have 10 ports using PoE w/ o issues

Installed in my own home. All drops and VoIP connected with no issues. I will be getting a few more of these for clients.

I'm using thicker, higher quality Cat 6 and I don't get that nice 'clicking' feeling when the wire is punched down to confirm a positive connection has been made. Getting good punch downs is a bit of a chore, and I find I have to double-check all of my connections. The plastic is pretty soft and it's really easy for some to end up in the connection. Also I don't like the layout with all 4 pairs side-by-side, I prefer when the wires are 2x2 on top and bottom for each port. Using 9 total panels for this job and I would not use them again.

Some ports on this panel started showing signs of loss of carrier (typically a physical connection issue). I found that with even the slightest of cable movement at the panel, the link would drop for a few seconds. Weighing the cable down to promote better contact helped a little, but the link started seeing severe packet drops within days. I had to run a temporary cable to bypass the panel. This issue developed after just 2.5 years of ownership and minimal physical use (i.e. not plugging things in and out frequently). See the attached pictures showing the poor height and alignment of the pins (on a port that has never been plugged/used so has zero wear!) vs an RJ-45 port on an adjacent piece of network equipment (the picture with the number 6). The difference is night and day!I would not trust this panel for any kind of long term reliability or stability.

Many PoE devices suggest to use shielded cable to provide extra protection for noise: This patch panel is not designed to be used with shielded cable, only unshielded (UTP).
