Used for cancer awareness ribbons for cheer uniforms. These worked great because they didn't poke the cheerleaders when cheering, stunting or tumbling. Every once in a while a back would come off, but, if pushed on hard and deep, almost all stayed in place for the entire game. Worked great for our needs.

I have made several machine embroidery jewelry pins using these tie tacks. The Shamrock pins I made were a hit and the last crab feed I went to (delicious Maryland Blue Crabs I must admit) I made crab pins for the group I with with! They became the talk around the table.Easy to attach to the project using tear-away stabilizer and the tie tacks hold. Great item when needing a pin back that is easy to attach to a pocket or collar and puts a smile on the face of the recipients and a look of envy from those who were admiring the handiwork.

Being a typical teen, my granddaughter likes to change the look of her room frequently. On a recent move to a new home, she asked me to make her bedroom curtains. She wanted to sew together bandanas in different colors like a patchwork but her mom wanted drapes that didn't look crazy from the outside. I bought some wonderful blackout curtain material and sewed the panels that would face the street. Then I sewed the bandanas together forming a rectangle that would be the curtains facing her room. I attached curtain clips to the drapes and below each curtain clip, I used these tie tacks to attach the bandanas to the drapes. It worked perfectly, looks great and now when she wants to give her room a face-lift, I can just sew new inner curtains!

The backs dont lock on like the metal ones do but the metal ons can scratch up ur skin so depending on what ur using them for u can alternate or place these where ur skin is in contact and us some metal ones to lock on ur patch or item .

Post is way too flimsy for making pins.
