These desktop speakers are perfect in size, great appearance and most importantly sound.These were a Christmas gift for my daughter who said the sound was "clean".She had to replace her Klipsch and I switched from Klipsch to Edifier recently.It was an easy decision.The construction was solid, beautiful wood finish, performance clean and tight, great price for a great piece of sound engineering.My daughter and I both pleased.

I'm no audiophile, but one need not be an audiophile to know when they've encountered a quality product. The Edifier R1280DB Powered Bluetooth Bookshelf Speakers are a quality product.The first thing I noticed is how attractive the speakers are. They'll look great anywhere and are small enough to tuck away if they need to be out of sight. The construction is solid and tight and the materials are clearly of superior quality.It took me maybe three minutes to set them up. I plugged one speaker into the wall and ran the speaker wire (provided) from one unit to the other. I turned the power on and quickly noticed that I could push the volume dial to switch between sound modes (Line, optical/coax or bluetooth). I selected bluetooth and then set my iPad mini to the same. Bam! Instant connection.And then the music started. Holy wow. The sound is gorgeous. There are only three knobs (bass, treble and volume/input), so there isn't much to adjust. I set the knobs to where I typically like them for Jazz. The high notes were crisp and solid. The bass was not heavy, but also not muddy--exceptionally clean. My guess is, if you're someone who wants the bass to crush your chest, then these speakers might be a disappointment. But if you want a crisp, clean bass that provides a solid foundation in reality--you will not be disappointed. Honestly, I felt like I was in a professional studio listening to music as it is meant to be heard (not so my my living room).So, if you want some nice looking, compact speakers that are easy to use and sound amazing--buy these. Well worth the money.

Bound easily to the phone, great sound quality and they look nice to boot. Remember, these are small bookshelf speakers , not Klipsh horns attached to a Crown amp. Don’t drive them hard or they go boom splat.Good build quality and an amazing price. Very satisfied

I think the existing reviews were accurate but I found a couple bandaids that helped them sound better.Firstly reviews suggest the mid range on these was a bit underwhelming. I plugged these in on my coffee table and this was indeed very true. The speakers have alot of range and accuracy, I was hearing things in the music I couldn't hear before. However the music sounded "cold" and lacked some of the brilliance from a better speaker.I found switching the speaker to my wood desk and near a wall really improved the sound tremendously. I also notice a huge difference between plugging in my laptop vs my high end desktop and I think this is due to the differences in motherboard sound chips/drivers and the quality of the signal it's sending to the speakers. My desktop sounds much better with the same music on these speakers. I also found a reddit that suggested to turn the treble and bass we down to help avoid drowning out the low mids on this speaker. Not sure if this is part of it or not but they sound much better in my small office than in our larger living room.I agree the bluetooth isn't very intuitive and took a bit to get working. I now have it working.Look/design - Here's where it did not disappoint. the speakers look incredibly stylish and premium. The wood and front mesh both look well made and stylish. They have a good amount of weight to them so they don't rattle, rubber feet fit well on desk.Sound transfer: This was a huge benefit of these speakers. My old/cheaper system had a sub, and annoyed my wife from other rooms even at very low volumes. I can turn this system up reasonably high in my office and with the glass french doors closed my wife can't hear much at all from the next room let alone the upstairs. Really looking forward to this benefit so I can actually use them.I would give a higher star rating if they were a bit "warmer" sounding/ had better tuned mid range sounds.

Sound really good! Great response with the port and good balance has sound centered. I'm going to match the Edifier t5 sub with them to enhance.Great for music while working, comes with optical cable as well. I have a dac, not sure if I need it or if there's one built in. Otherwise these would be perfect for home theatre use.
