A bit oily from the cutting process, but seems like quality machining.

I purchased these to check the neck relief on my guitar. The price was right and so long as they are accurately labeled, I figured what the heck. I took them out of the package and they were slathered in oil. Perfect for an automotive environment, not so good on a quality musical instrument. I took them over to this sink and washed them off with Dawn (I can use a brand name, can't I?) and carefully dried them. Once I did that, they did the job I needed. I'm hoping they will not corrode after the oil was removed. One additional note, these are inexpensive and show it. The blades are made of varying metals and have varying fonts. They do the job, but high end they are not.

Needed this for calibrating a machine. It did the job nicely. Lots of measurement options.

These gauges have a large variety of sizes to fit almost any application. They come with a thin film of protective oil to inhibit corrosion & come in a smart little plastic bag to stop that oil from spreading to any other tool. Easily marked so you know which size you are using & are firmly held in place with a wheel screw.

Used this to level my 3D printer bed. All the oil was hard to get off but worth the price. Thanks!

UPDATE: Updating this to reflect the fact that these feeler gauges are prone to rusting, likely the reason why they come drenched in oil. If you work in an oily environment, e.g. auto repair, rust probably won't be an issue. However, if you need oil-free gauges be aware that you will need to take precautions to prevent rust if you live in or work in a humid environment. I left the gauge out with the blade exposed, shame on me for not putting it away but a piece of equipment I use was down for repair and I forgot I had left it out, and when I noticed it several weeks later the blade was covered in rust. The photo is after I had cleaned the blade off and reoiled the whole set of blades. None of the other blades were rusted except for where they were exposed to the air in the finger cutout. 3 stars only because of the reasonable price.------------------------------Yes they were saturated with oil as other reviewers have mentioned. If that's a problem clean them off, solvent is cheap. I purchased mainly as small shim stock for setting up equipment so the oil wasn't a problem.
