I don't know why someone rated this product a 3. I am giving it a big five. This is what I call the game-changer. Fun tool for lawn aeration. Does the same job as an powered aerator. The difference is that it is manual. I am very satisfied with this tool. I initially bought it to do some patch work left over after paying a lot of money to landscaping company to do my lawn aeration. They still didn't get all the spaces done right. I fell in love with this tool at the first punch. I thought it was going to be exhausting but it wasn't; it was fun to work with. The holes depth are appropriate for my seeds. Not too deep or shallow, just right. I followed the direction of Lawn amateur on YouTube. Make sure you water the lawn a day before using the tool. Great exercise for your arms if you want them toned like mine. My neighbor saw me using it and she trust that whatever tool I rate as legit is legit. I am buying one for her now. Great value for my money!! Pictures to come later.

This may work for someone heavier than I. I am 150 pounds so the tool would only go in the soil an inch and a half. I had to jump a few times to get it all the way. Exhausting.

It's strong enough but even after 4 days continues rain and wet soil it's not able to penetrant the ground. May be soil is too sticky? But not working for me even after giving pressure.

I had another tool like this, and they are convenient to have when you need to add a little seed to your yard. Obviously, it’s a smaller tool and manual. So if you’re looking to aerate a large area, it may take a while! Best to use for smaller areas. But definitely gives you the right depth and size hole to add the seed. Works nicely and is of good quality. Lightweight and easy to use. Recommend!

This aerator came shipped in two separate pieces that were easy to assemble. It feels sturdy and heavy once put together.This tool is perfect for its intended purpose of aerating the dirt, and makes all the difference in the densely-packed soil in my garden. However, I also love to use it in between my flowers to easily rip out weeds and create neat, even lines in my flower beds. That's my version of ASMR, haha.

4 prongs are too hard to push down. I felt the strain on my lower back after just a few tries. RETURNED.
