But apparently, eggs contain a thin water-like substance that escapes the ring cavity. While this was a bit disappointing, the ring enclosure did an ok job of containing most of the egg inside the ring. I also assumed that the material the rings were made from, was chosen for its “non-stick†quality, however this too ended up in a disappointment when removing the ring from the cooked egg allowed egg pieces to stick onto the ring. I was able to reduce both of these disappointing revelations to a minimum by first spraying the rings with a non-stick spray to end the eggs sticking and (secondly) heating the skillet to a higher temperature prior to to dropping the raw egg into the hole greatly reduced the seepage from the ring.

Older metal ones work great, although these new silicone ones release even better yet. They're lighter and clean-up very easily. Would recommend.
