The directions say to put in microwave for 9 minutes but I did 7 and they were perfect. Wonder why I waited so darn long to buy one. It's great!

A friend told me about these, and what sold me on them was her saying that she fixed boiled eggs and her house didn't stink. I ordered one that day. She told the truth! We can now enjoy boiled eggs more often. My only problem with it is that sometimes the yolks aren't quite done after the recommended time. That's a small drawback for a gadget that keeps the house from smelling like boiled eggs. I would buy it again if I needed to, but I can't imagine that anything will break.

This is a pretty easy doodad to work with. It, probably, doesn’t save time, as opposed to boiling water and making hard-boiled eggs in a pot, but it is fairly efficient. They suggest microwaving eggs for 9 minutes. Since every microwave is different, you may need to cook your eggs more or less time than that. 9 minutes is a good starting point. I find that 10 minutes and 15 seconds works best for me. There’s a warning not to exceed cooking eggs in this thing for more than 11 minutes. I was a little skeptical about how easy the eggs would peel using this thing, but once your eggs are cooked, rested (for two minutes) and cooled (with cold water), this thing, with the eggs in it, can be given ten vigorous shakes, and that breaks the shells on the eggs rather nicely. From there, the shells can be easily peeled from the eggs. This is not a “can’t live without it†kind of thing but it does its job, well, and is a nice thing to have. Its one drawback is that you can only cook four eggs at a time with it. It would be nice if you could cook six. Maybe, in the future, they may come up with an expanded version of this. I understand that it wouldn’t be practical if something like this was too large and cumbersome to lift, but it would be nice if it could handle two more eggs. As it is, it’s a less messy and reliable method for making hard-boiled eggs and for that reason, alone, it’s, probably, worth it, in terms of less muss and fuss.

Whatever you do, FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS. Do not forget to put the metal insert into the top or the eggs most assuredly explode, blow the door open, and make a big mess. It happened to me and my microwave no longer functioned afterward. As long as you keep the metal top piece in and put the water in, it will be fine. Really it just uses steam. I often need to cook more than 4 eggs at a time so I just put a steamer basket in a pan on the stove and that does the same thing because it's really all about the steam. And yes, the shells come off much easier. Like they do on the TV add? NO! But still much easier than boiling method. I'm not a fan of the cheapness of the plastic. I use one of those old tried-and-true collapsible steamers like Grandma had. It still works. On an induction cook-top, it's just as fast as microwave and I don't have to worry about forgetting the metal top piece.

Intenté usarlo varias veces y en todas terminó en desastre! Los huevos revientan y se hace un tiradero. Mejor haz tus huevos duros de la manera tradicional.

Eigentliche Funktion ist ok. Innenverschalung läßt sich nicht vollständig herausnehmen, dadurch können sich hier auf Dauer Essenreste ansammeln, die sich auch bei gründlicher Reinigung nicht entfernen lassen. Sehr mangelhaftes Design.
