I have an e-bike that is a couple of years old, and I recently took a spill and broke my control meter. I was about to order a new one from the manufacturer when the Electric S866 LCD Display Meter came across my data feed. My old meter has no LCD display; it's basically just 3 buttons with an LED array to show how much of the battery power is left, so this looked like an excellent upgrade. I picked it up and gave it a whirl.The good news is that the meter is everything I thought it would be. The LCD display is large enough to see while riding upright, the backlight is bright for those early morning or evening rides, and there is all kinds of cool information displayed: speed, assist level, distance traveled, etc. It's also easy to switch between metric and imperial units. Very nice!The main problem is that it doesn't control my e-bike. The display powers up and down, toggles an icon for the lights when I depress the '+' key, the motor assist value increase or decreases as expected, but the motor and lights on the e-bike don't engage with the meter. The meter product page says the its a 24V 36V 48V control panel, so I assumed it would work with my 48V motor, but no luck. On the back of the LCD meter, there is a stamp that reads 36V, so maybe they sent me the wrong meter. In any case, this is a real heartbreak because the meter is so cool! Bummer.This meter will be a great addition for someone's rig, but not mine. I can't recommend a product that doesn't appear to work.
