Had a factory 2 burned propane cooktop in the RV and it was a joke. Would not put out enough heat. Removed it and installed this one in its place. This cook top seems to heat very well. Took less then 10 minutes to boil about 3 cups of water in a sauce pan so I think it will work fine for what we need. The top seems that it will clean up easily and the controls are pretty much simple and straight forward. I think this cook top will work very well for what we need.

When I took it out of the box I was a little disappointed by the weight and feel of the device. A plastic bottom? However after using it a couple of times, it gets really hot, really fast. If your looking for a hotplate that you can actually COOK ON, then this one will indeed work. One word of caution, when I bought it the description said that you did not have to use metallic pots and pans on it, the photo even showed a glass pot on the burner, but the documentation that comes with the device says that you must use metallic pots and pans with it. It doesn't matter to me, but it might matter to you.

1. The unit shuts itself off after only a few minutes if you do not set an ON timer for EACH separate function2. The unit has many unnecessary gimmicky functions for each of Cooking, Hot Pot, Fried, and several more. We need to Seattle tap the Power button THEN tap the Function button to select I've of these gimmicky "functions" just to turn the thing on.3. The only thing each "function" does is activate or deactivate the element rings at a default temperature. They're pretending this is useful as some kind of thermal-signature variety for each basic use, but all it really is is a gimmick to pretend they have features, features which are unnecessary and which add clutter to just being able to turn the fin thing on and have it stay on.4. The actual heat transferred from the coils or rings to the pan or pot is terrible. I've tried with induction and basic thermal metal pans and pots, it just fin sucks dude.I bought this thing because it was the only ~10" pad I could find under my budget.The auto-shut-off timer on this thing is fin retarded. You have to enter the timer as TIME TO OPERATE on EACH SEPARATE FUNCTION and you have to do that why time you unplug and plug it back in.

I have the Cuisinart hard anodized set and it worked great! Ok so now after having it a couple weeks, yesterday it started acting weird. The temp drops down a little at a time then shuts off. I made soup a week ago and it was fine, today I made stew and it just ticked me off. I don't like babysitting a lot of soup. I'm frustrated. It has plenty of ventilation so I don't know what the problem is. I wish I could get the one I had before but it isn't made anymore.

I’m glad I got this now. I can have me some spaghetti. It doesn’t take long for the water to get hot and start boiling because you got so many different temperatures but I like this.

I love this thing!!!! I purchased it because we're in the middle of transitioning from a gas stove to an electric and I needed something to cook on in the meantime, I didn't want to purchase another 100 gallons of propane for a stove we can't use anymore. Other hot plates wouldn't hold the temperature consistently and it took FOREVER to boil water. This one keeps a constant temperature and my cook time went from 2 hours to under an hour. My only complaint was that it is in Celsius rather than Fahrenheit... so a lot of googling was needed to convert the Temps. But overall, excellent product!!!!

I’m not happy with this product, I bought it few months ago and been used few times as well, just for short time periods 20-30 mins or so. Suddenly the 70% of heat element surface stopped working. It is disappointing.

Easy to use as an extra cooking element. I used it for canning and was very pleased and it did what I needed. I started with hot water from the tap so that it was quicker to get to near boil in 10 quarts of water. Very pleased. No company name is given which I found as odd.

This is quite a good burner so far. the controls are easy to understand and use. it has a lock safety feature, heats up quickly and just all round does exactly what it should. we bought it for our canner but I can see us using it for a lot more than that. It's lightweight so easy to pull out or put away. I took off one star for the fact that there is no way to shut it completely off other than unplugging it. that's kind of a pain but otherwise I hope it has some longevity as I can see us using it for years to come.
