The first one I purchased, if I remember right, failed in the closed position on the first day, causing the fans to run continuously. I got a replacement and it worked for a few months, but then failed yesterday, again causing fans to always run, which is not good when it’s 40° outside. The engine never got above 140. Going with another brand on Amazon (Starts with an ‘F’.

The switch functioned at install then after a few heat cycles it failed “closed†and would not open when cooled down.

Tried two of the 185/175 switches. Both do not connect until just past 200 degrees and do not disconnect until well below 175. I would not trust my engine temperature to this unit.

Installed the unit on a 1986 C4 corvette engine to run the cooling fans. Worked right off the bat but wouldn't shut off until the engine was off and cool. Worked again but came on way too soon and again didn't shut off. It did stop the over heating issue.
