This automatically turns off after a few minutes ( to save battery I guess or thinking you forgot to turn it off??) Got this to detect changes in emf for my spirit work. It doesn't even stay on long enough to complete a normal ouija board session. Was hoping to detect emf fluctions during my sessions. This is not good for ghost hunting but works great to detect emf's from household appliances! ( and yes my battery is brand new and fully charged )

I can easily get full scale readings from it buy getting near certain equipment. The one that is no surprise is the microwave. Full scale about a foot away, and 3 lights about 5 feet away. The big surprise is the car. Set it on the console, and continuous 4 lights once I start the engine. The thing I am not sure about is how dangerous whatever it is detecting actually is and whether or not it is detecting the most dangerous radiation. The manual says the detection frequency is "30-20,000 Hz". I have not had much luck finding out what frequencies to be concerned about - or not. The other thing, based on the claimed detection range, When I put it right up against an electrical cord(60 Hz) and turned on the toaster oven it was supplying, 3 lights came on, but went down to the default 1 light as soon as I moved the meter away from the cord. Putting it next to my cell phone, with the screen off, just the default single light, but when the screen is on, all lights flicker continuously.

We're happy with this EMF detector - does the job, but I recommend getting a better battery immediately, the stock one is cheap and no good.

Bought this for my 9 year old grandson . He and his friends love " ghost hunting ". They had a great time hunting.
