Have a 2007 Chevy Malibu 3.5 and kept have a error code P0496 the garage kept on saying that it's the gas cap but did a little more research and tested that valve and it tested bad.replaced it with this one and works great. Erased the code and ran for about ten miles and tested good.no error code.

Havent installed the purge valve yet so can only grade on packaging and appearance and cost.will update when installed.have finally installed and it was defective ,lasted about one month 🙄 have since solved this matter with Amazon..😀

This part is a 10-minute install, 10mm wrench and thought it would be close to a $10 fix. Two out of three. Installation was quick, but the new part did not fit into it's place very easily, took some extra effort and lubrication to get the o-ring to seat properly. After a day or two of driving, I got additional OBD trouble codes rather than solving my original problem. After bringing the car to a shop, they found that this part failed, the valve got stuck in the open position. The real version of this part is more expensive and of course their labor at their shop is more expensive than mine at home. I took a gamble with this brand and lost.
