I bought this kite line for a 53 year old, 1.5 lb. nylon box kite which takes a good 15-20 mph wind to fly well. I took a chance on the 50 lb strength rating but was worried that it might not be strong enough and snap when I had the kite up 800 feet, so long kite.... I put on thick gloves, I am strong, I wrapped several turns around both hands and tried to break it. I felt it stretching a bit and might have broken it if I had applied full force but I have no doubt that it will handle my kite just fine. I have an old Penn 66 ocean reel and it held about 800 of the 1000 feet of string. It's fun to sit in a chair and control the kite with a fishing reel than to wind it by hand!

Excellent braided dacron kite line. Got the 120lb test. Just to give it a test I took a two foot section and created a loop on both ends and used that to hang a 45 pound barbell plate! Let it hang while I worked out and it didn't snap. Will have no issues with any of my single line kites. Also like the color pattern, the usual all white line can look nasty in a very short time if you are out using it in the field. Remember the WLL (working load limit) on the 120lb breaking strength line is 24lb. So it can take 24lb pull constantly and not weaken or degrade.

Line was great but a large amount slipped off the spool when opening and all got tangled.

Excellent kite line. Divided the 1000 into two 500ft rolls, flying two hexagon kites. They are 3 1/2 ft diameter and pull very strong in 20kt wind. No challenge to 12lb line at all, the line is fairly light and minimal stretch.I hesitate to fly a 4ft or larger kite on 120lb test mostly due to abrasion resistance and failure at the knot/anchor point. But very happy with this line and will be buying heavier gauge fir the bigger kites.

This is what kite string should be like! A lot of the kevlar stuff is, I am sure, fine. It is so very thin and cuts your hand. This dacron line is substantial and thick and marked with that red stripe to make it visible. Quality product----recommend to kite fanatics. This 120# line is for bigger kites and will anchor them well. I use it on a large single line parafoil. I will now only buy my string from Emmakites.

Not much to say for a kite line.Very sturdy, and 1000 feet is a nice length to break up for some smaller kites.But... being a 200lb. line, will probably work best on the really large kites.I like the line, and would recommend it.

This is now my 4th purchase from EMMAKITES! First was the 200# line for a very large kite. That was great so for two other kites if have that are a bit smaller I chose this 120# line. It's great line, and it looks good too. Lastly I purchased two Kite kits from EMMAKITES, these were smaller kites for my youngest kids and they are awesome. EMMAKITES is a fantastic store, with great products and fast shipping.Thank You!

Strong kite string. I use with a 2 line kite. Works well in strong winds (20km or so).The line does seem "heavy" so as I mentioned strong winds.

Nice strong line. Possibly a little thin to peg securely onto but it's long and strong
