I use these clasp envelopes for storing all my receipts for tax time. They get a lot of abuse with adding and taking out receipts all the time. I like the clasp part since I can open and close envelopes quickly. The clasp work much better than the strings which get caught in other envelopes. The envelopes are stored for many years and not reused. Price is very important here. Price vs sturdiness works very well for me and my application. I never seal them so I cannot rate the adhesion.

For my needs, these pretty much work. I don't have to seal them, which is good, because the seal is not very adhesive. The paper is thin, but I consider these to be disposable after using for a couple of days, so that's okay. My biggest complaint is the clasp, which is a very weak metal that will break easily over more than a few uses. Not only that, but some of my envelopes came with the clasp loosely attached and it fell off almost immediately, or the bendy spikes that hold the clasp in place were not fully secured and poked through the front of the envelope and had to be removed anyway, so those envelopes where not useful for my purposes. I haven't gone through the whole box yet, but I've had to throw away about 2 of 40ish that I have used. Still seems to be cheaper than some of the alternatives, and is currently working for my needs.
