We'll, I need to use the main water shut-off valve to shut off a leak anywhere in my 1943 house. The new life are locked on and the bolt used to unlock the lid is pentagon shaped (5 sided). These told allows me to do that. Nicely made!

Had to remove my water cap on my front lawn.Fit the nut exactly.I see some reviews saying the wrench broke.I'm thinking perhaps too much torque was added to the "T".There is an 11/16" "nut" at the base of the wrench, that should be used for the stubborn bolts.Keep in mind than many of bolts used to attach these caps were brass and will break easier than steel.I would advise you soak the bolts down with a penetrating oil before you try removing them.

If you need this to unlock your main water line cap to shut off water don’t purchase . It’s the wrong size for ohio water supply waste of time and money. Had to call water company anyway to shut off my water

I use this wrench to turn on/off my garden sprinkler. The special bolt is a bit annoying without proper tools. Get this tool if you'd like to save some bucks on a plumber visit. It pays off even for one season given the cost.

Looks like a good product but I cannot use it because it is wrong size. It is too small. Needs to be next size up. Add does not state the size and if it comes in different sizes. So it sits in the tool drawer not being used. But it looks good.J. M. Anderson

I'm not sure if all water meter covers use a standard size bolt, but this tool, while it worked, was too large and almost didn't work.

Small but perfect. Doesn’t take much space. I have it stored under the porch, about ten feet from the water meter. If I have a problem between my shutoff under the house and the meter I need this to get the lid off so I can shut it down.

This tool is far too big for the curb water shut-off. The head of the tool leaves a lot of space on every side, making it impossible to get any grip and turn. The tool is advertised as 5/8". I'm guessing the shut-off is either 1/2" or 3/8".
