My daughter needed a case for her . I looked at a cheaper case: , but reviewers indicated that modifications would be needed to fit the Epiphone so I went with this one as I knew it would fit.I'm glad I purchased this one, despite the price difference. It's very plush inside and fits the bass very well. There's a little extra room on the sides of the body of the guitar on one side of the body, indicating to me it should work for other viola bass guitars as well. There's a fairly large storage compartment under the neck of the guitar that can hold a strap and other accessories with room to spare. There's a small key inside that compartment upon shipping that can be used to lock the case. The exterior is smooth and flat black in color with four metal feet on the bottom (when you open the case as it's laid flat). The handle and hardware are all of good quality, silver in color and the case comes well packaged to prevent scuffs and scrapes. It's definitely ready to be covered in band stickers if desired!I'm very pleased with this case and it should offer great protection for my daughter's bass for years to come.------------------------------------NOTE: When I couldn't get this in time via Prime, I purchased from an Amazon Marketplace seller - Chicago Music Exchange - and put a rush on the shipping. The item arrived in 1 business day (I expected 3) which made this purchase an even better one for me. Highly recommend this seller!----------------------------------

pro's my viola bass fits very well & has very large compartment to put your strap, cords, mic, ect. incons it smelled bad. it had a ding in the outside of the case. the inside of the case looked like it was put together by a10 year old kid who didn't care. didn't send it back because its just too big a hassle. if the workmanship had been 100% than it would have been worth what I paid for it.

Here I am, again, visiting the seldom visited REVIEW POST section... because I only post when things are either really bad or really good. I am here because I did so much research on this and people here also helped me alot, I wanted to return the favor.First off, many thanks to all of you that decided to post your thoughts... and many thanks to those who answered my question (above). You were all tremendously instrumental The MAIN thing I was worried about this case, was that the described fit was so TIGHT and PERFECT, that it would impede my bass storage with the rather thick leather strap I love to keep on it. Additionally, I attach it to my bass slightly different than the default setup, I run the right side of the strap through and under the TAILPIECE, then round robin back up to the strap mount. The reason for this is it keeps the guitar from rolling forward as I play... I also put a special pad on it for my forearm so that the sharp edge of the top of the guitar doesn't etch it's way into my skin. All of this puts a bit of a heft on the things that "protrude" from the guitar.. and so.. I was worried it was going to be too much and not fit in the case. There was THAT and the fact that I am an accessory "whore"... love to always take my Zoom B1X pedal, the required cords, including AC, spare set of strings, plug adapters, assorted manuals and cloth wipes. Oh, did I mention an all in one tool to let me re-string my guitar on the fly where ever I am.So... was this SUPER FORM FITTING and SLIM case going to allow me to take all of this with me?Got it today. The answer is.... A SUPER POSITIVE YES! It fits ALL of the above mentioned items AND fits the guitar with the strap left on.To the person the mentioned that the KEY didn't work, it DOES work.. but it takes some finagling... when I tried to use it and it DIDN'T work for me, I thought to myself.. "That person that wrote that review was spot on".. but I continued to try and if you HOLD THE CLIP WHILE YOU TURN THE KEY ALL AROUND and you feel a little resistance on the clip itself... BOOM... it's locked. Same in reverse. So try it again.. it does work. The inside is SUPER MEGA plush... wish I could SLEEP on it myself.. hahaha. But I know my treasured Viola is in perfect safety whenever I gig.Kudos on this and I recommend it to whoever is looking for one after me... IT FITS EVERYTHING PEOPLE! hahaha.Hope this helps someone else as you guys have all helped me out.Steven

This is a great little case for your Paul McCartney-style bass. I say it's a little case ,but it's actually got some weight to it when it's loaded, considering that this bass is a hollow-body,short-scale number. The padding inside is custom cut to perfectly match the contour of the body, and when the bass is situated,it fits like a frigging glove! I'm giving this case a 4-star rating because, where the manufacturer got the bottom half of the case just right, they kind of dropped the ball on the headstock end by not incorporating any kind of brace piece for the headstock to rest on.With all the space underneath and around the top of the neck of the bass, you'd think they could've found a way to put in some kind of support for this critical area. Now, let's talk about aroma. When I first opened this case, I was just about sidelined by the intense, gas-ish smell that permeated the case. I left it open overnight and that seemed to diminish just about all of the fumes, but that first exposure was rough, baby! The case has a very nice, large compartment with a lid, into which you should be able to pack not only your strap, but your mini-tools, a tuner, talc, and a decent sized cord, comfortably. On the outside of the case , in nice gold lettering, is the Epiphone logo, which I'm happy to display, as I've been generally very pleased with the build quality of the Epis that I've bought. As much as I would not subject this case to the rigors of airline cargo compartment hellish treatment, I would have no problem carting it around to rehearsals and gigs where I would be caring for it myself.

Whilst over it is a lovely item and the guitar fit in the case, it didn't have a lock on it even though it came with a key. It had no mechanism for a lock. Also had an issue when putting guitar in i pushed the clase slightly whilst doing it and the lid fell on my arm, but it hit my arm on the middle latch leaving scratch. I suppose i should of moved my arms a bit faster.
