I've used this current probe in my Automotive classes for several years now. Work great and is an excellent value for the money.

Works great. Just need to remember it has an auto timeout setting, so you don't get confused when it shuts off!

I have purchased a couple dozen of these over the past 3-4 years. We have hundreds of students and these are used many times a day by people who just learning how to use them. The main reason I keep buying this brand is the price and the "auto-off" feature. I really am happy not to replace the battery every time someone leaves one of these on. (This used to happen every single day).If there was another economical alternative with the auto-off feature, I would buy it because these are not that great. My biggest gripe is that they last about 6 months, and then the lead develops an open circuit right at the base where it enters the clamp. For a while we can wiggle the wire and get it to work, but this is frustrating. We have tried repairing the leads, but the same problem returns before too long.We have tried to prevent this problem by reinforcing the leads on the new clamps when they are new. This also helps, but only for so long. I have used many others brands of clamps, and I realize that all are susceptible to this problem, but this particular clamp seems to be especially prone to it.

The auto shut off feature is good, but be carful- while you are taking your time and hookning up the equipment and researching the problem it will turn off and give you no reading... make sure it’s on ;)

So far, I've been successful with this clamp attached to a Snap-on scope. It has matched the accuracy of more expensive clamps, and is quick enough to capture useful current ramps from coils and injectors. It has a larger jaw diameter than some other low-current clamps, so on some vehicles you can even use this clamp as part of your parasitic-draw test plan.

I got this one because it seemed to be the only low amp clamp that had a conductor opening more than 9mm. The first one I bought read a confirmed 110ma load as 8.166mv, which converts to 0.08166ma. according to the rather confusing instructions. OK, so I got a defective one. I returned it and got another. It initially tested OK in the shop, but when I used it out in the field, the reading changed by about 80mv, (or 0.80ma,) depending upon whether or not the clamp end was facing up or down on a cable with a 0.5ma load. Returned the 2nd one. Not going to bother with a third strike, it's out! Found the INNOVA 3347 Digital Multimeter AMP Probe here on Amazon. 3/4" conductor opening, and is accurate with >100ma loads so far, but haven't tried it with

The tool works great and the price is the best part! I would recommend this to anyone who is in need of a good low amp probe at a good price!

Did the job for me but the auto-off feature was a problem when testing for long periods of time.

The only issue is that the included battery lasted about 20 minutes. But a new alkaline battery fixed that.

Handy diagnostic aid, hopefully won't be used very often.
