I paired this portafilter with my bambino plus. I wanted a bottomless portafilter for a while now but in my search I noticed the cheaper ones on Amazon didn’t have a lot of reviews. If they had any, it was 50/50 on people who liked it and people who had issues with theirs. I noticed this one had mostly people who liked it and specifically used it with their bambino plus and had success. I chose to roll the dice and ordered this one. I really like it. I like how the head can screw off of the handle so I can only wash the head and not the entire thing. One thing I will note is this portafilter is pretty light. It doesn’t feel at sturdy as the portafilter that came with the bambino. So if you’re looking for a heavy, sturdy feeling one this probably wouldn’t be the best match.I don’t mind how light it is, I just care about it’s functionality. It screws in perfectly to my bambino, and hasn’t shown any issues when pulling a shot. Really the only variable is all the puck prep, but that is not a negative on the portafilter. It’s more user error than anything. A bottomless portafilter is tricky, and a single wall basket is even trickier. I think if you have issues with it it’s not because of the actual portafilter.I took this cool image of my setup and am so happy how it all looks together. I definitely would recommend this portafilter especially to anyone who has a Breville bambino.

Works good in our Breville and even works with the baskets that come with our machine but I have notices it can spray espresso when pressure is high

I won't lie, this made an instant change in the quality of my espresso on the scale of 50-75% improvement. The pressurized baskets that come with the Breville Bambino really limit how good of a shot you can pull (even if you get all the variables right). The unpressurized basket that comes with this finally made my espresso taste like that of the local coffee shops. This portafilter feels amazing in the hand, very high quality and has a good weight to it. If you also have a Bambino, note that this handle is longer than the OEM (if that matters to you).If I were picky, I would complain that this did come with a small blemish in the wood... but since I am using this for a home setup where the only person that will see it is me (and it has no effect on the amazing coffee it can make) I really don't care. And yes I bend down and watch in awe every single time I pull a shot with this because it's so beautiful to watch that sweet nectar of the gods pour into my cup.

Made the leap to a non pressurized basket. If you have been brewing with a pressurized basket you will probably need to buy a good espresso grinder. Expect some trial and error getting a good pull with this portafilter and basket.

The wooden handle is really crap quality 1 drop of water and it stains straight away !!!Everything feels super quality, looks and weighs very professional but the damn handle can't take a drop of water ???I have 3 small stains now from water drops, will find some varnish for the handle tomorrow. As expected the portafilter didn't fit my machine (i have 3 prongs but the prongs are much thinner)So i taped most of the filter with masking take and filed down the 3 prongs to fit my machine.Took me a while too because this one is solid metal and not coated brass.Because its a pressureless i shaved it down a bit more to get an easier fit.Overall after testing it out vs the original portafilter it made some damn good coffee !Also i don't have to clean my entire machine anymore as with the original pressurized portafilter the coffee grains where everywhere up on the machine where the hot water came out.

I ordered this portafilter in hopes that it would accommodate my biggest basket, a Pullman 25-28g. It does, in fact, hold that basket, so it should be able to handle about anything. I've used it with that Pullman, a 14g waisted basket, and everything in between. It's got a good weight to it, feels good in the hand, and has a nicely plated and polished finish that seems very durable. It's a great addition to my setup.

Although there is a minor misalignment between the handle and the portafiler itself, it still works perfectly well for my manual espresso press. The price is quite good and it also comes with a filter basket inside. I’m happy with this item.
