Edit (1/16/2025): The company reached out and made it right so I'm increasing stars for the good customer support.Edit (1/15/2025): it was fun while it lasted. The entire thing fell apart. I tried to remedy the portafilter basket they included but it would not work, it just sprayed coffee everywhere and anywhere. So, 4 stars off for poor quality control. Completely useless. Oh well.Original:I’ve been using the Bottomless Portafilter with my Breville espresso machine for a while now, and it has been a game-changer. While it can be a bit messy due to the bottomless design, the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks. The increased headspace allows me to use larger cups without any issue, and the ability to see the extraction process has helped improve the quality of my shots. I've noticed that the flavor profile of my espressos and Americanos has significantly improved since I switched to this portafilter, giving me a richer and more robust taste.One of the best parts is that I don’t have to clean it immediately after each use, though I still keep it clean to maintain optimal performance. The mess can be managed by wiping down the area afterwards, and the portafilter itself tends to stay surprisingly clean. The handle is sturdy, but if you're a bit rough with it, the handle can unscrew. It hasn't been a problem for me, as it’s easy to screw it back on, and it’s definitely not a sign of poor quality.Overall, this portafilter has been extremely useful in improving my espresso experience. It’s a solid and worthwhile investment for anyone looking to elevate the quality of their drinks. Highly recommended!

I recently purchased the MORILS 54 mm bottomless portafilter. My first impression of this piece was that it was very well made and extremely functional. Also, the finishes were impeccable. The packaging was excellent, and it came complete with a double shot basket and a filter screen. The fit with my Breville espresso machine was perfect, and the results were great!This piece really complements my espresso bar, and the espresso that it produces is as close to flawless as one can get.I highly recommend it.

I purchased this for the Breville bambino. It fits perfect, but the machine is small so you do have to hold it when you insert the portafilter. Compared to the stock portafilter this was the upgrade I needed to finally get more consistent espresso. You also get feedback when you watch the shot pour. It should be even and pool in the middle. I like the design and the puck screen was a nice additional upgrade to my setup.

This Breville replacement is better made than Breville's but it does not work the same. because there is no funnel at the bottom, it splashes out over the side of the cup. I will find a metal funnel to guide the coffee to the cup. This replacement can't be exactly the same as the Breville original, as it would likely be a product rights violation (I surmise). Its a compromise, but it won't likely fall apart like Breville's version.

Great purchase, this portafilter works very well with my Breville Barista Pro. Its a great value coming with a puck screen as well to keep my machine cleaner. Very happy with the purchase and I’m sure the portafilter will last many years to come based on the durability thus far.

This is my second portafilter for my machine, and I can say that it is of great quality. The extraction is very good, and you can see the work of your puck prep. It is very consistent. If you do your proper puck prep and dial in your coffee well, the extraction will be amazing. If you have the metal brush, Breville, the color matches very well.

I recently purchased this bottomless portafilter, and it has been a disappointing experience. First, the design is flawed—this portafilter doesn’t rest on its own, constantly falling to either side, which makes it incredibly frustrating to use. Additionally, it’s impossible to fit it into a tamping station due to its awkward design, which defeats the purpose of having a consistent and efficient workflow.The filter basket itself is another major issue. The holes are poorly designed, causing coffee to spray sideways, which creates a mess every time. I even tried using a filter paper at the bottom to mitigate the spraying, but this is not a viable solution and certainly not something I would recommend to others. To make matters worse, the basket is tighter at the bottom, which negatively affects the overall extraction.In short, this product is poorly designed and doesn’t deliver the quality you would expect. I would strongly advise against purchasing it.

Great design & heft. Metal parts are milled beautifully and screws in sturdy.Comes with nice basket with almost edge to edge holes (can rival my IMS) and a metal mesh screen. The screen is lacking, it's thick and very hard to clean.Fitment of baskets is on the tight side, but at least it makes it well secured for ~54mm baskets. Recommended.
