My Ring Doorbell Pro 2 died after 2 years. To add to injury just got an email that the subscription fees were going up to $50/year. This meant I needed about $300 to regain the service adding both the failed hardware cost plus the new subscription price. I decided to try the Eufy doorbell camera for less than half the price and no subscription fees. In conclusion I am glad I switched. The Eufy camera has better view angle and the second camera does a great job at capturing packages detail. The video recording is similar to Ring. It records several seconds before and after it detects someone aproaching or pushing the doorbell button. Big difference is Eufy records it in 6Gb internal memory as opposed to the cloud. Cloud service subscription is optional. Image is quite clear (2K as opposed to 1536p) both day and night and sound quality is top notch. Also wifi signal is quite stronger than the Ring Doorbell Pro 2, which always showed weak signal. Unlike Ring it requires to bypass the existing chime so you will not be able to use it, however it comes with a chime with several tones to chose from. Sound strenght and tone was similar to my old analog chime. It comes with an optional wedge base but it is 15 degree angle as opposed to 25 degrees (Ring). It does not have the 3D motion detection, bird eye view or more zones but I hardly used these features on the Ring camera.

I did a lot of research before choosing a doorbell. I've been rebuilding a family member's house and installing servers, redoing the electrical, all sorts of stuff to make it completely automated and smart. I wanted a doorbell that didn't require any cloud nonsense and could be used completely locally, no battery, no pains. I liked the dual camera setup to make it easier to see packages, and while I didn't really care about the extra features like "package guard" or whatever else, they don't hurt. The main reason I pulled the trigger was Eufy support, on their forums, stating they would be updating the cameras to allow RTSP streams. That was all I needed to hear. It's now almost two years later, and they've completely blown their customers off. Do some searching and you'll find hundreds of people complaining on Reddit, linking to Eufy's support forums where they stated this, and getting pretty upset once they realized that it was basically a flat out lie and it's now turned into "well, just buy a newer camera" when they absolutely have the ability to unlock this feature.I don't like not having RTSP when it was promised, but outside of that I actually didn't mind the doorbell. It's a shame I won't be buying any more Eufy products; I just can't do business with a company that tosses out promises to sate their customers (and fans, even) without intending to ever actually follow through. This isn't unique to Eufy - never buy a product based on promised future features. Ever. People have been burned like this countless times; if it can't do it right now, don't assume it'll be able to later.

See update below: Great camera with no subscription required. Easy installation too. It was a bit pricey but I felt it was worth it. The performance was 5 star HOWEVER it had a 1 year warranty and died before the 2 year mark. The door bell function kept working but it wouldn’t connect to the internet anymore. Eufy not interested in replacing it.I had contacted Eufy customer support but they were not interested in replacing it because it was outside of their warranty period. However, they recently contacted me and replaced the faulty door bell with a completely new one. It’s hooked up and working fine so far. Very satisfied with their response!

I recently purchased this doorbell camera and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. It’s incredibly easy to see what’s happening at my front door at any moment, thanks to its clear video feed. Connecting to my phone, even when I’m not at home, is a breeze. The price point was perfect, and the installation was straightforward with my existing wired doorbell. I simply removed the old doorbell, did some reconfiguration based on a helpful video I watched, and everything has been working perfectly since then. This top-notch product gives me a great sense of security, and the best part is that there’s no monthly subscription fee. I highly recommend this beautiful doorbell camera to anyone looking for an affordable and reliable security solution.

Picture qualities is good. I haven’t had a chance to test the sound. It’s only been three days. Not a lot of false alerts but a few. Easy to install, but I have to change the Wi-Fi password a few days in and that could’ve gone a little smoother if you could do it from the app which you cannot, you have to go through all of the steps and when I plugged it back in with the supplied cord, the green light did not come on, so I just decided to follow the subsequent steps and the camera worked. I reinstalled it turned the power back on and it’s working great mind you I’ve only had it for a few days. This is my second purchase from Eufy. I’ve had my first wired security camera for years and have no problems with it.

I bought the item in March of 2024, and for the first few months it functioned well and was easy to install. I installed the device and noticed a slight delay in sound and video, but I still chose to keep it because, for me, monitoring and recording are the most important things. By the end of August, it constantly disconnecting from the internet and requires constant troubleshooting, which involves removing and resetting the device, which I find to be very annoying. Surprisingly, when I contacted the manufacturer directly, they told me that used products are only covered by a 90-day warranty and would not cover it under a 1-year warranty. Prior to purchasing this item, I made clarifications about the warranty and was informed that it would still cover a 1-year warranty from the date of purchase, similar to the new ones.

I used to have a Vivint doorbell camera, and it was terrible. It rarely picked up activity that was right in front of it. We had our vehicles damaged and it was not recorded. I wanted a camera for our out of town AIRBNB so we can keep an eye on our property. Based on my earlier experience, I read a ton of reviews and did a lot of research. I went with this one because the reviews for the Eufy app were quite good. I purchased the upgraded transformer as well to make sure the doorbell would be able to work and I'm glad I did. This doorbell works amazing. I have a smart lock that shows when people come and go from our property, and it lines up recorded activity. It's surprisingly good at only picking up people when that setting is selected. The dual camera is worth it so that you can see if a package has been delivered. Loved this doorbell so much that we bought a second one for our home. Works just as great. Our house is roughly 10 years old and the doorbell didn't work without the upgraded transformer, so I recommend buying that as well!
