This is the only brand/model I have ever bought, but I think the new 2020 design is excellent.I use these pin locks on a collection of enamel pins on my name badge lanyard. Even though I wear the lanyard for eight or more hours a day, you never notice the little cylinders. I first thought they might press into my chest as the lanyard moved; NO, it's very comfortable.I've never lost a pin. Even if I wear my lanyard hitched to my belt and dropped my badge in my jeans pocket. I've expected the extra stress to pull a pin lose or pry off the lock... not yet!!

They do work well, and I'm glad I have them for certain pins. Good value, IMO, for how many you get, and multiple wrenches.Make sure you understand two things:1) These are, by their nature, just a lot more cumbersome to install compared to self-locking backs...so don't think you're going to be changing this thing out while walking on the convention floor, while trading pins, or out in the park waiting in line. That's a dropped pin and disaster waiting to happen. Have some rubber or self-locking backs with you for trading.2) You really need to crank them down tight, or they don't hold as well as self-locking backs. If you do this, you're good - but make sure you do it.Do those two things and they're great!

These are super secure! I can hold up my bag by the pins and shake, and they still don't come off. I used to be afraid to put my pins on anything because I thought they'd fall off, but now my backpack is covered with them! Theses are very easy to use, just put the tiny screw-like thing into the cylinder and tighten with the included hex wrench. I put all the screws into the cylinders in advance without tightening them so they don't get lost, and so it's easy to just pop them on and tighten. I recommend putting the larger part in some playdoh or something similar to keep it in place and with the hole facing upwards while you put the screw in. I only took off a star because the pack has a few that are broken.

I wish I knew these existed prior to losing a pin I purchased in Romania. I ran all of my pins without locks and I lost one and decided I wasn't risking any more, considering that I've hauled that bag around the world a few times.Getting the little hex/allen screws into the lock cylinders can be a bit tricky if you have big dumb hands and kind of bad eyes. The bag I have has sort of an upside down useless pocket in it's cover so I mounted the pins over it, and use the lockers to secure them. If they go anywhere, it's because they tore the material getting snagged, or I lose the bag entirely. This purchase was well worth my money. I worried these would be too long, and they're perfect.If you want to go the extra mile and really make sure things stick, I marked the spot on the shaft of the pin where the hex/allen screw will go. Then I basically filed a little flat spot onto it, so when that set screw goes on, it prevents the shaft from moving up and down. You do NOT have to do this. I over engineered this solution because it's not like I can just hop on a plane go back and pick up a replacement.

I have bought pin locking backs before but they have been too short, resulting in still being stuck by the pin back. These are long enough that they protect you and protect your pin at the same time.
