Neighbor has an older Chevy truck with the 350 motor. He changed out the plugs/wires/cap/rotor and ran some fuel cleaner down the Throttle Body. Still had stumble when coming off idle to higher RPMs. I ran this thermometer on the exhaust of the engine when cold and after engine warmed up. I found one cylinder was under the temps of other exhaust ports to be from 50 to almost 100 degrees less heat than the other cylinders. This told me that the injector for that one cylinder wasn't fueling the cylinder correctly and that neighbor needed to run at least 2 to 3 cans of fuel cleaner in gas tank when tank got to less than 1/4 empty. This way it'll give a strong cleansing of the spyder injection system this 350 engine has for fueling as it's trapped between the intake manifold before going onto something else to eliminate what may be causing a lower temp reading, but I suspect it's a slightly clogged fuel injector tip. Temperature reader did great on its first usage and it'll help greatly on older engines to help me do tune-ups on lawn mower engine carbs, motorcycle engines to help balance out multiple carbs and the like. You get the exhaust pipes balanced in temps, without going lean and you will have a good running engine. I'd purchase this model again as the readings were quick, easy digital screen to see and told within seconds what 8 cylinders were doing and helping me eliminate problems that can be bad in what appears to be a simple tune-up, when new parts are installed, but having to rely on old parts that aren't changed out in a tune-up.

Works as intended, extremely fast temperature results. Really like that it has a built in red laser.Con: It's extremely hard to see when outside in direct sun light.

awesome product very inexpensive and does a great job. Saves me from climbing a ladder or getting too close to hot items. Just stand back and shoot.

Working as a campground host, I needed an infrared thermometer to check fire pits to make sure they are cool enough to clean out the ashes. While this unit works, you can barely read the screen in daylight. Also, the sound function doesn’t work.
