This is GREAT for what it is. It's inexpensive and works well enough for DIY jobs at home. So great for DIY at a DIY price. If you want to do lots of projects big and small, you're going to want to go with something more professional. At the cost of rentals, this was economical so long as it lasted a few projects. It's going strong :)

Worked really well for our soil which is a slightly sandy soil. As long as you add some moisture, but not too much, it will compact it solid.Would definitely recommend.

It works great, compacted an area roughly 15 x25 ft. to install pavers and worked great.I'm surprised by the quality and ease of use, it's heavy, portable and gets the job done.It was worth the money, I figured It would have cost me 2 trips to the rental store and at least $200 out of my pocket.Since I plan on doing some more work in the future, the machine looks durable and will pay for itself.

Used this five times for light jobs like decomposed granite, on the fifth job, the plastic handle broke and on the sixth job it wouldn’t start. It’s garbage.

I built two flagstone walkways and used this to compact the 3/4â€- rock and decomposed granite, it did a great job. Keep in mind that this unit is not a contractor quality unit but works great for homeowners with small projects. Seems to be fairly well made and I put quite a few hours on it with no issues.

All that’s required is electricity and didn’t have to worry about gas or oil while storing. The weight is very good and does a great job of compounding the ground with ease,it’s definitely as good and better than a small gas powered compactor ðŸ‘

I had higher hopes for this compactor but in hing site, I should have gone for a far more powerful gas model. Used to pack down granite fines in our home dog park, after moistening the ground. The unit works ok but lacks enough power to really pack them down tight. If the material isn't spread perfectly smooth ahead of time, it will bounce across the high spots leaving the low spots uncompressed. The side enges should be beveled, like the front and back to prevent them from digging into the substrate. After operating for a couple hours now, my hands hurt from the high vibration. Might be fine for VERY occasional use in a small area ...

I got this because I cannot lift and use the gas ones. Even dealing with this is a challenge for me. I can not compare it to anything since this is my first time compacting. let's say it is lot better than manual compacting. manual compacting also has it place. Overall good machine and build well. Arrived 4 day early which for the first time in my life I did not appreciate since it meant more crappy work :). After I am done hopefully someone will buy it.

Works great, much more user friendly, precise, and clean than the gas versions.
