Overall the product itself is of excellent build quality for the price. It feels solid, almost to the same degree of an OEM unit. My order arrived as exactly described: a key with a battery pre-installed, and a transponder that you have to install yourself. I picked up an OEM BMW key badge as an added touch, as it is not included. Installing the transponder is a bit tricky, as there are no instructions and you have to disassemble the entire unit to find where it goes.Pairing the key is pretty straight forward, just look up online and it takes less than a minute. However if you're getting this because your original keys are dead, be aware you have to start the key pairing process within five seconds of unlocking the door using your physical key. I didn't know that and was have issues at first.Getting this key fully functional isn't the easiest process. I ended up driving to three different locksmiths to find someone that could cut the darn thing. Even then, the place charged $40 for their work, not the cheapest expense. You also have to remove the blade from the key so the locksmith can cut it, the key housing gets in the way of their mounting equipment.Getting the key cut is not the end of this long process as programming the transponder is also a bit of a pain, but I feel anyone can do it with the right tools. I picked up an AK90+ on eBay for about $20, and the whole process of tearing apart my car and programming the key only took about 30 minutes. Do keep in mind though that if you plan on doing this, you'll need a 10mm socket wrench, an extension for it (so you can reach the EWS), and trim prying tools. This key once fully functional works really well and looks really clean in comparison to an original key. While there are a bit of hidden costs, having only spent roughly $80 when BMW quoted me $400 for a replacement key seems like a really good deal. It just takes a bit of time and dedication. My car: 2003 BMW 325xi Touring (E46)

This key is awesome. It has a really solid feel. The flip button is great. Feels great in the hand. Not too heavy or big. Feels great in the pocket. Programming worked with an eBay AK90 programmer. The chip comes outside of the key, so installation is needed. There is a small notch (shown in red circle) on the back of the key to open for battery replacement/chip insertion. Got the key cut at a local locksmith.

Ended up with wrong key type needed the one with notch. Tried to contact seller before shipping but no response. So I thought I can just use the remote. Its the right frequency but did not work for me so my money is in the drain with this product. Otherwise good steady product

Worked great for my 2002 bmw 325i. Came with the correct transponder. Took a couple times and repositioning of chip on ak90 programmer for it to work. It was failing the verify test. Finally programmed and verified. Stuck transponder into key fob on top of battery to hold it steady.

Works for my E46 BMW, programming of locks was normal like any 3 button diamond key.Transponder programmed with the AK90.Finding a local locksmith to cut the key was a bit of a pain.Only thing is the panic button doesn’t work for the E46 cars.Still nice remote, will have to see how well it holds up over time.

The key quality is great, feels really premium, and the silver top is actual metal, not plasticThe remote however can't seem to keep transmitting one button while another is pressed, so it can't perform the sync process for the car an E83

Works perfectly with the cost of the key, then to have it cut and all programming required the cost was less then the dealer. First pic is original key so this key is more modern. The locksmith added the rondel to the key since this key fob does not come with the BMW rondel... (BMW emblem)

The key has weight to it, doesn’t rattle, the buttons press smoothly, used an ak90 to program it on my 2004 e46. Works great

The one thing to watch out for is that they scratch and dent easy. So try to avoid dropping them on the ground.

Had to order this key because the key they advertised for my 04 BMW did not work. Be careful. note: picture of the blade is correct for what is shipped. The description is wrong.
