I use this every single day while performing home inspections. In fact, it is probably my favorite tool. The problems I have uncovered and the knowledge I have been able to provide with this has payed for it 100 times.Having both the pin and pinless mode is imperative. If it hasn't rained in a few days they without pinless you would never know if there is still leaking. Results are highly reproducible and accurate. One of the nicest things is the fact there is a chart on the back with levels of moisture for different materials/ modes. This is helpful as the pin/pinless modes read moisture differently therefore 30% on one is different from the other.The beeping is a nice touch in hard to reach areas. It would be nice if you could silence it though as can be a bit annoying while using for extended periods.Lastly, the power butting could be moved or redesigned. I like to carry this with me a lot and is easily turned on in a pocket. Not a huge deal but have gone through a few batts quickly when it gets wedged against something in my tool bag.P.S. pin cover is hard to open but that does prevent it from getting lost/ someone sticking themselves. I find it easiest to push on the front and rotate back, usually pops right off that way. Just make sure not to pin yourself.

I don’t like the on/off button as it easily gets bumped and will turn on when you don’t want to. The depth on the pinless mode seems really good. I like that I can set it down on a flat surface and then back up and take a picture without having to hold onto it like I do with protimeter. Unit has been durable and reliable. It would be nice if they added an accessory jack. Overall good value. I’ve bought several now.

Purchased this device to use in pinless mode. Worked reasonably well the first time I used it. A couple weeks later I tried pinless mode and the readings were constantly at or above 90% even when not touching anything (should read 0% in that case). Device malfunctioned. Tried power cycle, replace batteries, etc with no luck. Note in this case the "pin mode" seemed to still work, but was not a fit for my needs. Returned/replaced the unit through Amazon. And the 2nd device did exact same thing. Unfortunately this time 2 days after my return window. Question sent via Amazon went unanswered. Im stuck with a malfunctioning device that I used one time.

This is the perfect tool to use in your house to check and make sure there aren’t any leaking pipes or rainwater getting in to your house. Heavy rains can drive water into the walls and sometimes sinks and toilets a leak and you’re not aware of it. Just lay this thing against the wall against the floor around your cabinets and you’ll know if it’s wet Underneath

Seems to work correctly at the moment, but it had been opened, batter put in & then attempted to be scotch taped back in. It fell out in shipment. Hope it works as expect.

Love this product. I use it at almost every job sight. Love the non probing feature to ready different building materials. I do not recommend keeping these in your vehicle as I think it ruins the display. Also don't keep in your tool bucket. It's not the best at withstanding hits.

Initially didn't give repeatable results but the probes were slightly loose. Once they were gently tightened up it works well enough for practical purposes

Har testat Extech mo55 i husets väggar, och den verkar mäta rätt, eller i alla fall visa högre värden där jag vet att det finns fukt, så jag är nöjd. Vill använda den vid test av husvagnar inför köp, så indikation på högre och lägre värden räcker för mig.

Used it to successfully locate the source of damp in our kitchen and one of the bathrooms. Thanks to this handy little device we didn't have to tear up the entire rooms to find the problem, which turned out to be a leaky pipe in both cases. We could pinpoint where it was wettest and then just remove that tile, and in fact that's where the problem originated from.We found it very easy to use despite having virtually zero DIY experience, and well worth the investment. Will definitely be using this regularly to check the bathrooms and kitchen in our place.
