i love how easy to use it is, no more skinning wire in a CT cabinet or upstairs at the transformer bank or even in the meter cabinet. so glad i bought this for me and my crew. now i can trust even my groundmen to check rotation. and as long as im with in 50 ft i can tell by the intermittent or solid beep if its clockwise or counter clockwise with out putting my eyes on it. so nice to have in my tool bag

This unit is great for safety as all leads are very well built. Clamps are covered and the risk of exposure is very limited due to the design of the product. Well thought out product that is very easy to use. Also comes with great instructions to clarify any questions you may have. Works consistently in hot and cold environments and never gave us a problem to date and that is hard to say about a lot of products now a days. Solid A grade!!!

I was recently testing a custom 30kVA 480V Delta Primary 208V Secondary. My company has a Fluke 9040 I started verifying the phase rotation with the FLUKE meter, but after discovering our building was wired by utility with negative rotation (counter-clockwise) and my transformer had some core windings swapped, I decided to invest in a phase meter for myself. The Extech 480500 meter's specs are very good and owned by FLIR who I have a lot of respect for. The meter worked just like the FLUKE 9040 and cost less than a third of the FLUKE meter. Very satisfied!!

Needed to know rotation of a motor without power. Product info didn't disclose that power was needed on the motor to determine rotation.

Stop clowning around with the alligator clips on the average rotation meter, Trying to clamp on to some live component. This unit works fantastic! Clip it to wires anywhere convenient.
