After trying several loppers on the market, this one stands out over all of them. Solid build, great telescoping action, evenly distributed weight (not too top heavy), easy cutting action, and short range of motion thanks to the new “maximizer†for faster opening. This thing is no joke, all business, and so far has coasted through very large roots and branches. The rat hung action is simple, smooth, easy, and powerful. Unlike with other loppers, this one has a smaller range of motion to operate and cut...especially using the “maximizer†option. Personally I think price point of these loppers is way too high...I can’t believe I paid $145. Not knowing how these will hold up long term or the cost of the materials that have gone into this product, I think they should be priced around $100. That’s still around $40 higher than the most expensive similar loppers. Having said that, yeah I bought them and am pleased with them and the lifetime guarantee if anything does happen. Couple key take-aways to make a great product even more amazing1) I wish there was a way for the “maximizer†latch to be a specific option vs. having to reset the latch each time you open the blade (see pictures). Makes it cumbersome to operate when cutting multiple branches while telescoped. Personally I would use the maximizer on every cut if I didn’t have to reset the latch each time. Why? The shorter travel/range of motion one needs to open the blade and cut = faster cuts in less time = more efficiency. The faster opening using the maximizer on this geared lopper in general is a huge advantage over others period. The fact I don’t have to open the arms to aprox 70 degrees to open the blade like other geared loppers is A huge advantage with the EZ Cut G22) I love the red anvil side which catches the blade. It’s looks great! I was a little disappointed the paint rubbed off the teeth and cutting area on first use. (See picture) It’s a beautiful accent to this tool. Not sure the answer other than somehow molding that piece using a red dye?3) Mine didn’t come with the strap to keep loppers closed however latching the “maximizer†Kind of serves the same purpose when stored.Overall great lopper, high price point, love the maximizer. If you can afford them, don’t bother buying anywhere else

These loppers are high quality and appropriately priced for the quality and capability. I needed them for the extra wide jaw to cut palm tree fronds as close to the trunk as possible. The anvil with a serrated raised portion is useful to get a good grip for the cut. The handle extensions are solid and very stable. The ratchet mechanism works well but one of the bolts worked loose. It was simple to retighten. I recommend these loppers to anyone who needs the ratchet strength and exceptionally wide jaw of these loppers. This is a lifetime tool.

Very heavy duty. It is a bit heavy to use when reaching up to do branches, but the ratcheting sure makes it easier to cut the limbs, unlike trying to do this with just my puny strength alone :). Well worth the bucks.

I used the ratcheting cutter for a couple hours - moderate use - cutting Areka palm trunks about 1 1/2 to 2" diameter (at most) worked well... oiled the cutting edge & stored them for a couple months. Tried using them after storage and it fails to "ratchet" no damage to them just quit working... expensive and sad that the failed after first use.... too late to return.

I have been using the Fiskars PowerGear2 bypass loppers and they are fantastic and have never broken no matter how hard I cut with them. I needed loppers that would cut larger branches so I ordered the EZ Kut and the blade broke while I was trying to cut a 3†Eastern Red Cedar. I did have the handles fully extended and was using about 80% of my strength when the blade just snapped.Update starts here: Amazon replaced the broken cutters. I have been using the replacement set for 2 years now without issue. I just keep in mind that the extended handles do offer huge leverage, so I am careful not to put too much pressure. They work great for reaching high branches.

I did not purchase this product for cutting brush. I'm sure it would work well for that but I am using it for another purpose. These cutters are perfect for cutting bone on game animals. The wide jaws make it easy to get around and the blade is sharp enough to cut cleanly through.

I used this for 2+ years without issue until today when the blade broke cutting 2" lilac, which isn't a hard wood. Oddly enough, I had just finished cutting greater than 2" lilac. All I was doing was cutting the branch down to fit in the disposal bin. Otherwise, these loppers are good. It's a shame I'm past the return date.

I moved onto an acre with loads of oak trees and loads of branches falling down. I bought a chainsaw and hired a handyman to show me how to use it so I wouldn’t kill myself because some of the branches were just too big for my clipper but this thing Does what it says and it will ratchet its way through amazing sizes of branches. I don’t know why I didn’t have one of these before. It’s my favorite tool. My chainsaw is getting dusty
