A volt snapped off when removing the valve cover. None of the other extraction methods worked so I had to finish drilling it out and put a helicoil in. The tap is tapered and I could not get the threads deep enough on the bottom half so I had to cut a helicoil in half (wish they came with a variety of depths). Is it the best? I don't know, but I took it slow and it worked for me. Tap handle not included.

After striping the rear stud for the valve cover in the cylinder head of my BMW S52 engine, I used this tool to drill and insert. It is the perfect thread pitch and is easy to use. No leaks, hold to torque spec, and holds great!

I used this to repair 3 pulled out studs on the rocker arms of a bmw m52. kit worked good. a little grease helped the insert slide in(would not install dry).
