Faber-Castell's Extra Soft Pitt Pressed sticks are the oldest sketching and drawing material in the world. The greyish-blue shade glides softly across the paper, rubs and smudges easily, and can be erased without difficulty and repeatedly overlaid. Their blueish hue has always held a fascination, even with the old masters. The charcoal pencils leave a much blacker line. Compressed charcoal with soot and clay give the charcoal pencils their deep black colour and can be produced in different degree of hardness. This particular stick has an extra soft degree of hardness.

Dürfen in keinem Künstlerhaus fehlen 👌ðŸ¼

This pack of 3 Faber-Castell compressed charcoal sticks is just what I need right now; I have some sticks left in my studio – but due to current lock-down and travel restrictions I can't travel to my studio, so I'm drawing at home. These Pitt sticks come in 3 grades; I've used them ever since art school and Faber-Castell have always been my first choice; this set is the extra soft, so they're rather messy to work with but they do spread and blend well with a nice velvety blackness; I like to combine them with vine charcoal, conté sticks and pastel; my usual choice would be medium grade, but they weren't in stock when I ordered.3 sticks wouldn't have lasted long in my student days; now these will last me weeks - if I can store the drawings without further mess afterwards.Still the best quality compressed charcoal sticks available.
