Let's be honest, you are reading this because you don't want to spend big bucks on the fancy ones. I had to clean up the threads on the R8 drawbar threads which made me nervous, but it was great after that. My mill is a Rong Fu, so the rigidity of the machine is the real limitation. This thing feels like on of the best cheap things I've bought in a while. I ran an indicator under all the carbide inserts and measured 2-3 thousandths of an inch. I took away a thou by just sandwiching a piece of paper between the top of the insert and the holder to effectively make it longer. We will see how that holds up. It had 4 cutters at 2.5 inches in diameter I think. Works much better than my fly cutter and much less noisy.

As a kit I was impressed with the cutter, arbor, and tools...BUT, when I examined the included inserts they were very irregular. From the top they looked identical but the bottom of the inserts were all ground differently...like they were seconds. I didn't cut with the cutter nor have a tool mount to measure the tooth height of the assembled cutter...but with the variability of the grind pattern om the bottom side of the inserts I lost all expectation of a positive outcome if I used the cutter with the supplied inserts. I would advise using your own sourced inserts with the cutter.

Was supposed to be a 6 flute as pictured in advertisement. Came in a 4 flute. Supplier admitted it in reply to text. I will use it at work for personal use. I have used 6 flutes before and they work good. 4 flute probably works good, you have to adjust federated and rpm.
